Well, with Assault on Black Reach coming out next week I thought I'd do a little poll of the Dakka community.

So who is going to buy the Black Reach set?

Do you want the whole set, only part of the set, are you not interested at all, or are you going to try and get only the models/components you want?

Personally i'm very excited as a new player.

I have just about 1500 points of Orks now (mostly painted!) if I give them the right upgrades, so the Orks in the box are very exciting. Not exactly sure what i'm going to do with the Slugga/Choppa Boyz at the moment (convert to stormboyz perhaps?) but more Boyz is never a bad thing.

The new warboss will be replacing my old boss, thats for sure. Awesome model.

I'm excited about getting those Space Marines too. I am going to use Black Reach to start up a very small Space Marine army. I'm thinking Salamanders (I like the Fluff) at the moment, though I'll most likely need some more models to do a truly fluffy Salamanders army.

So what are your thoughts on Black Reach?

I think this is one of the best boxed stes GW has ever released. I'll have 2 sets but I'll give the Marines away to several buddies. That leaves me loads of orky goodness !

Very cool box set, but I have all this unpainted Tau I still need to do first...otherwise I'd be into the Orks. Still, the mini rule book is enticing so option 4 for me.

1 for me, but I would be glad if someone took the orks. I would go for the rulebook only, but I want the English one and they are a bit rarer around here...

Nice set, I will use the marines in my future space marine army, if I ever build it that is...

Wow, really - Are you planning on keeping all the models?

Starting a new Ork and Marine force or are you simply adding to whatever you already have?

I plan on getting two and trading off the Orks....that is, unless I fall head-over-heels for the Orks as I've heard they're dead sexy.

I was sold on Orks when I saw the new Trukk model.

It screamed mad max at me.

I'm ramping up to 3 smurf armies.

The Orks I am not sure what to do with (I hate the basic Ork pose and ergo 99% of the models) though the deffkopta is cute.

I haven't decided how I'll be giving them away.

Any bright ideas?

I am only getting it for the rules, the templates, and the termies to use as garbage test models for paint schemes so I don't have to use my expensive termies for that purpose.

Other than using them for trading fodder, no.

I wish the box set had come with some Shoota Boyz though, as I don't really need another 20 Slugga/Choppa Boyz.

I guess I could buy some more trukks but I really don't want to run a Kult of Speed list.

I suppose I could take my trukk boyz and add the Black Reach boyz to them and then have mobs of footsloggin choppa/slugga boyz 22 strong for when I don't decide to take trukks.

I'm getting at least 3 as that's how many Death Wing Assault Cannon and Sergeant bit sets I have currently and I can always use more Dreadnoughts and Orks. We'll see how many more I may or may not get if I buy any more DA vet boxes.

Getting one for the Rulebook, whippy sticks(cause I lost the two that I cut down into 6" sections), and templates, which I also tend to lose regularly by not marking my name on them. The Terminator's I'll probably keep too, but the rest I'll be trading off. I have no desire to play Orks, and the Space Marines in the box, while nice, don't lend themselves to Space Wolves that well.

I'm done with 40k. Between the Eldar Backlog I'm barely interested in painting and
the Grey Knights I've never finished, I'll probably not buy very much 40k at all other
than stuff that's fun to paint.

I'm getting a box for my birthday and so is my friend. I am trading the SM in my box for the Orks in his. I'd also be saving a lot on the rulebook (it's $85 AU) and the box set is only $10 more.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

You know, once you glue your regular marines they become monopose.

I'll be picking up one. I eventually want to start an Ork force and I can always use more termies for my Deathwing.

Yeah, but *I* get to pick the pose.

That said, if GW made monopose SM in full Mk.6 Corvus (beakie helm, studded shoulderpad, cable chest, & greaves), I'd be interested. Or if GW made monopose Templars in full Crusade gear (Mk.2 helm, Maltese Cross shoulderpad, tabard chest, armed with BP&CCW), I'd be OK with those as well.

But Mk.7? No thanks. I won't be fielding any ordinary Mk.7 after the revamp.

HA! That deserves a spot in the snappy comebacks hall of fame! I'll be getting two and trading off the marines at my FLGS saturday when they have the big "Trade of the parts of AoBR that you don't want cluster- " By the way, does anyone want the plastic whippy sticks? Really, I can't even stand to look at those things, they make me sick in the head with what I might do to people with them...

I'll be buying one. I have a handful of cool metal Orks that need some cheap plastic mates to fill out their mobs, and I can always use more Space Marines. I have this weird compulsion to collect every different type of plastic power armoured space marine, too.
