1) Drill a hole into each piece you want pinned
2) Glue your pin of choice into one hole, then glue the other piece to the pin.
3) ????
4) Profit!

Was hoping for something a bit more elaborate perhaps ;\

Like what people use for drills?

hand drills or electric, and what kind/size?

special tipped drills for sharpness and durability?

types/sized of pins?

how/where they do it exactly?

etc you get the point ;D

little tips:
Before you drill the holes in the piece without pins, put a blob of obvious paint on the end, then place the two pieces together in the right position so the paint marks the other piece and shows you where to drill the holes.

some pieces may require 2 or more pins, otherwise if the glue breaks down you end up with rotating component syndrome (unless you want it to rotate)

You'll want something similar to this.

Your local hobby store will likely sell one. If it comes with a small enough drill bit, you can use paperclips for pins. If not, you may be able to pick up some copper rod at the right size.
