Hello peoples of the Inter-butts!

I come seeking help with my Ork list that im currently building for a league game next month. Any and all criticisms and whotz will be appreciated. Thanks

4 Bikers (Troop)
1 Nob w/ Big Choppa 140 pts

15 'Ard Boyz w/ Shootas & 1 Big Shoota 155 pts

Elite
9 Nobz w/ 6 Big Choppas/3 Power Klaws/ FnP/Cybork body/'Eavy Armor/ Waagh Banner
1 Painboy
Trukk as Dedicated Trans. 480 pts

8 Tankbustas w/2 Tankhammers/2 Bsquigs 130 pts

8 Flash Gitz w/More Dakka/Shootier 280 pts

This army worked halfway decently against my friends' Khorne based army, but we were half in the bag when we played, so lord knows if we even got some of the rules right. PLease dice it up and let me know what you all think. Thanks!

My experience with Orks has been that smaller units are more challenging to play since their leadership is usually so poor without Mob Rule.

Nob units are a notable exception. They have multiple wounds and therefore are a lot more resilient. Point being is that if you are going to run standard bikers I'd run a full unit of 12 or not at all. Make sure you give them a bosspole.

Nobz in a truck with a painboy is a fine choice. Put them behind the bikes so they get cover before they assault. Edit: They may not unless obscured, easier said than done and not really possible behind bikes so just get them across the table as quickly as possible! I'd find room for either a Warboss or Ghazgull to put in the Truck so your Nobs become a troop choice as well.

Ard boyz are good but maybe a standard unit of 30 shoota boyz is a more efficient choice to camp objective(s) on your side? Just keep them in cover at all times.

Put the Tankbustas in a truck so they have a chance to make it across the table before wiping. Keep them behind the bikes.

With this list I'd run 3 looted wagons in the heavy support slots. They can just sit in the back and drop pie templates at targets. Soften up the opposition for your Nobz and Bikers. You won't mind if your opponent shoots at them because that means they aren't shooting at your trucks.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the input, but I dont think i understand you. If i make the changes, it puts me above and beyond 1750 by a considerable margin. Can you help me out and keep it within 1750, or are you doing something im not aware of?

Thanks

I think you will lose every game with that list. HOw will you ever capture any objectives? You have like 25 troop models.

"Do NOT ask me if you can fire the squad you forgot to shoot once we are in the assault phase, EVER!!!"

I was just rattling off some ideas off the top of my head. I think we can make it a lot more specific and keep it within the point limit though. In order to maximize synergy I'm just going to ditch the vehicles completely.

HQ

Wazdakka Gutsmek = 180
Mad Dok Grotsnik = 160

Troops

12 x Warbikers (Nob with Power Klaw) = 335
12 x Warbikers (Nob with Power Klaw and Bosspole) = 340
24 x 'Ard Boyz (Nob with Power Klaw and Bosspole) = 280
25 x Shoota Boyz (Nob with Power Klaw and Bosspole) = 190

Elite

15 x TankBustas (2 Tank Hammers, Nob w Power Klaw and Bosspole) = 265

Total = 1750

This maximizes Wazdakka's special rule and allows you to maintain 4 scoring units. Attach Mad Dok to the 'Ard Boyz unit for FNP along with a 4 up armor save. Run the tankbustas behind the 'Ard Boyz for 4 up cover. Camp the Shoota Boyz on your objective in cover and stand there the entire game. Run the 24 bikes all over the table and charge everything you see. At the end of the game zip them over to an objective to score it.

I realize this is a lot of bikes but Ork leadership scores make me paranoid and compels me to run as many mobs in a unit as possible. Mob Rule is very important so I try to exploit it every chance I get. If we're going to make our bikes scoring units then we should just spam bikes as points allow.

Let me know if this fits your vision of the list.

Nash,

Thanks for the update list, it looks like it has some potential. I'll build it up and run it against my friends 'Nids (may take a bit...need more bikes, it seems.)

As for Smart Alex, sorry, im not completely familiar with the new rules. Is EVERY game an object-based game, or do they still dole out victory points for units killed? Because that was the point I was going for, to just win through VP.

2/3 of the basic 40k missions are objective based. 1/3 o the missions are won by kill points (1 point for each unit).

His advice is pretty solid for a speedy biker list. Until you build up to that run what you have, but do keep in mind the bigger any squad is the better. The new dex lets orks truly shine when they act like hordes of orcs. Orc Elite armies are a little trickier now, espescially since troops are the only ones that can score objectives.

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

from the main list i'd drop the flash gitz and add:

4 Bikers (Troop)
1 Nob w/ Big Choppa 140 pts

4 Bikers (Troop)
1 Nob w/ Big Choppa 140 pts

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
