from what I remember it basically says start with the two orks units and the space marines 18"? apart on a open(empty) table and play it through... this is just to learn the rules for shooting, moving and CC... then once you played that game play another and add in the other units and terrain...
If IRC the SM list has about 85pts something more than the orks, so you need to either add another unit to the orks or reduce the SM side... you could reduce the SM terminator squad to 3 men...then just play a regular 40k game ...

When I got my brothers playing, for their first test game I picked two 250pts lists, set up the table and placed 3 objectives...
And for their first full game they had 750pt forces...
