Title says it all really... Can things use Demon Prince's (Chaos Marine army) marks as icons (ie teleport homers)??

Cheers

no, nothing in your post indicates that they would be able to.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Sadly I think I agree...

Units have icons so I thought the DP mark would be the same.

However, marked Lord level characters have the option of buying a personal icon so it looks like marks do not work as icons as DPs have no option to buy them.

Right, I think you were mixing up Icons(which grants marks and have an additional rule stating that DS doesn't scatter) and the marks themselves(which just grant the stat boosts).

Marks and icons are different things. And this is one of the only ways in which a Lord or Sorcerer is better than a Prince, because they can take a personal icon and he can't.

FWIW: The new SM codex makes a differentiation between Teleport Homer and Locator Beacon. Page 101 of the codex under Teleport Homer states that it only works for units that are teleporting (like terminators), not for units entering play using jump packs, drop pods or other means of transport.
A Locator Beacon works for other things like Jump Packs, Drop Pods, etc because it includes GPS and connection to the global networks/grids. The Drop Pod in the SM codex includes a Locator Beacon.

Don't forget that Chaos Lords can also have Daemons Weapons, Chaos Steeds, Terminator Armour, Ranged Weapons, use transports, and join units, while Chaos Sorcerers can have extra psychic powers, Force Weapons, Chaos Steeds, Terminator Armour, Ranged Weapons, use transports, and join units.

There are definitely some other advantages. I particularly like the abilities to attach to squads and to use transports. “The only” was a poor phrasing.
