Has anyone converted a Landspeeder Storm yet?

I am thinking of converting 3 of these and I have the Landspeeder base kits on my table at home right now, but I was wondering how to do them? I was hoping someone might have some good ideas or possibly some images they found?

I have yet to see a real one.

Anyone seen one that could carry 5? I was thinking of trying to make a deck, where they would stand in it, instead of being seated.

Mine can carry 5 scouts (unbased). No problem. It's about as roomy as a miata, but doable.

"Physically" able to carry 5 models on bases and we're getting into Rhino size and "true scale" issues (the compartment will need to be some 3+" long) not to mention the model will also have the same visual profile as a DE Raider (*Ahwooga Ahwooga! target! Ahwooga!).

- on a related issue, the Raider can carry 10 models, but physically only 6 with bases.

Im undecided on quite how to build mine.

I just LOVE the pilots on yours, it's awesome.

In my preliminary work I realized I would have to stretch them out by 2 inches in the center to accomodate 4 bases. I was thinking about that and putting the 5th guy in the co pilot seat with the original power armor marine pilot still in the cockpit.

Your scout pilot is so great I am kind of reconsidering that.

Xanthos' Land Speeder Transport is a very good source of inspiration, it does exactly fit with the feel of the Storm, but it does give you some nice pointers for stretching a speeder, and the resulting model looks fething awesome!!

Personally, I think Xan's looks better than the Storm variants.

I would consider working the same conversion, but instead of that lower secondary wing, creating a standing area with a couple hand grips mounted on the side.

Mine is mostly inspired by the old GW france "Sirocco" pattern speeder. The lower hull piece (pan) was cut in pretty much the same spot.

Of course, after building mine, I found a mesh/grating panel that would've worked better than the plasticard sheet (from a syberclicks building set). Oh well, next time for that piece.

I am going to use the cable drums from a vanquisher on the sides for the repelling lines and i have an idea for the platform that i will need to try out for the crew
