Really cool looking team you got there! There is only one thing I beg you to reconsider and that is the base of the treeman - its just so much more managable to fit it on a smaller base, one that fits a square on the board

The second smallest square base from warhammer range is identical in size with a bloodbowl square, so idd go with that one - ive fitted allmost every possible big guy to such a base and in the long run it will prove to be alot more enjoyable than the huge square base.
I know that the old treemans legs are a bit problematic but its better that its feet go a bit over the base rather than the base taking 9 squares from the pitch when in reality it should only take one!
It can be done! I know it - why? cause if I managed to fit and balance a giant to a "bloodbowl-size" base, then anything can fit on anything!

Hmmm... maybe I can fit the treeman on a smaller base. He almost hangs over on the base he's on though. He was fun to create. Take an old school treeman (much, much smaller than the current one), add Ork shoulder pads, and voila, he's ready for Blood Bowl.

yeah,
Yes Dakka need smore blood bowl!

Nice team,
Your treeman looks ace, He might look better on a 40mm round base, i have two LOTR treemen on 40mm bases it's fairly obvious which square their's on..... untill they're knocked down then they their hight and width can be a problem in a tight brawl... i use a penny to mark his location and take him off the pitch if it's really busy...

My only gripe is the elf holding a ball... I hate this, only the ball carrier should have a ball! but this is my issue with any BB mini that's got a ball...
I drill/scrape/cut (hell i'll use my teeth if i have to) so that none of my minis are carring a spare ball around all game long!

Panic...

I converted the Wardancer, the old school models fit in well with the Elf BB team. That was about the extent of my conversions for this team.

I don't mind the ball so much, it helps me tell the two catchers apart.

Looks good, but I can't help wonder...

WHY is the treeman wearing SHOULDER pads? Who is he going to be "shouldering" into?

Maybe spiked KNEE pads? LOL

There needs to be a lot more specialist games stuff around here ^_^.

Nice team. I've never played BB but I'd love to check it out. Maybe when the 360 game comes out it'll spark my interest enough to get a team together!

yeah,
If more people make army profiles for bloodbowl teams, they may get their own heading in the articles section..?
I have my four painted teams (orc, halflings, goblins and lizardmen) in here... somewhere.

the post count in the dakka board game forum is quite low. maybe the majority of dakka isn't interested in board games like BloodBowl... which is a shame.

No kidding Dakka needs more Blood Bowl. Actually the entire hobby needs more Blood Bowl. Is there a video game coming out for it soon? Maybe that will help its popularity a little. Meh....probably not.

Anyway, I like the treeman too, regardless of possible base issues.

I gave the Treeman shoulder pads so he fits in better with the Blood Bowl "look". I figure he can grap someone and impale them on his shoulder spikes.

Sunday was my first game of Blood Bowl in about 12 years and it was great. There's nothing more nail biting than running down the pitch, rolling dodges and Go for its or attempting to blitz a ball carrier in your own half. Most fun I'd had miniature gaming in a long time.

It's been a long time since I played BloodBowl but your pics have inspired me to start it up again. I like the earthy tones you've used too, very nice!

I was hoping that posting some Blood Bowl would get other coaches out of the closet.

Post your teams, I want to see them!!

ED: Thanks, I wanted to steer away from the cartoony look and I wanted these to be test models for my Wood Elf army.

Oh it will, it will.

I have Dwarf and Skaven teams. I also have Undead in the works, and a halfway done Halfling team (comedic relief) with a treeman of their own.

I'm thinking of stripping the older ones since my technique has improved a lot since I painted them. But either way I'll be, uh......coming out of the closet soon.

Blood Bowl is one of my favorite games of all time. I've got 8 teams: Human, Dwarf, High Elf, Lizardman, Undead, Orc, Chaos, Goblin. We have an ongoing league with those eight teams. We don't really have enough players around here for a proper league so what me and a few of my friends do is group coach all the teams. When we feel like playing Bloodbowl we pull out the season schedule and see which teams need to play one another. We then select a match-up and player coaches that team to the best of their ability. We decide together at the end about skill advancements and team purchases. It works great. We get to play Blood Bowl often and there is a continuity of an ongoing league. Also, we get to play all the various races for variety.

Our league shedule is simple. Each team plays each other team once. Then the top two teams play for a major cup (in order they are the Dungeonbowl, Spike Trophy, Chaos Cup and the Bloodbowl). At the end of the season we also have an all star game with the best players from all the good teams playing against the best players from the evil teams.

Should I post pics here or start a new thread?
