This game is amazing covered in awesome-gravy.

I can fully believe this zombie-apocalypse setting. Except for all the guns and ammo sitting around. But they kinda have an explanation for it.

Who else is playing this?

I want to be playing it. I might buy it this weekend when I get my paycheck to have something to do on my off days from work for Thanksgiving. What is the explanation for all the guns and ammo?

Once upon a time, I told myself it's better to be smart than lucky. Every day, the world proves me wrong a little more.

Basically you aren't the first survivors to move through the area. Other people have set up "safe areas" that have medical supplies and weapons for others trying to escape. They also leave messages on the walls. Some are funny, others are really depressing and grim.

Absolutely godlike. If anybody has it on PC, feel free to add 'Commissar McVeigh' to your friends. I'm always up for a good game.

I got it for the PC as an impulse buy off of Steam and loved it. My XBox buddies grabbed it, so I got it for the 360 as well.

That's how much I enjoy this game.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

It's been the only game I've been playing for awhile and it's getting old in some parts. Like how every time I try to quickmatch it's No Mercy. I hope they release a map pack or something similar soon for download.

If I had more than I could carry and I thought someone I might know was going to pass through I'd leave what I didn't need or couldn't take with me.

Ditto, especially if I'm trying to travel fast and light like most of the game is based around.

Seriously, does the multiplayer get boring/repetitive or is it just an awesomely replayable game? (on certain levels of course).

The encounters are randomized each time. Even when you die and have to re-do an area, the amount and type of zombies is different.

Four-player LAN is epic win. I find it kind of odd how you can fire as fast as you click, which makes the shotgun pretty much a fully-automatic weapon for me, lol.
It's scary how fast the infected move. The smokers are really annoying too.

No, you do NOT shoot everything at once, because your team-mates will die.
Oh, and you're more or less screwed if all three of your partners die, because if a smoker or hunter grabs you, you can't shake it off.

This is the reason why you should buy Left 4 Dead for the PC:

I dont really think that video says anything about the gameplay of the game other than I think that guy was using cheats (whoopdie-doo i dont care). I think this game has awsomesauce written all over it. If anyone wants to play just send me something to Reaper0o1(mah xbox live gamertag).

Not true on the Smoker. If you can shoot the Smoker or its tongue before it drags you and turns you around, you can free yourself(in fact, there's an Achievement for doing just that). Takes fast reflexes, some skill, and luck.

For the record, why? I know another person like this and don't get his reasoning either(he takes his personal preference of mouse/keyboard as universal to everyone). The game is the exact same on console as it is on PC(myself and several friends have played/own both formats), so this seems a silly thing to say. I personally prefer the X-Box version because I don't have to be online or own multiple TVs/360s/copies to play with another person, my preference of 360 controller over keyboard/mouse combo for Shooters being irrelevant with a single $20 piece of gear.

Beat the game with my son in like 2-3hrs so that was kind of lame but the game visually is pretty cool.

It's not a game like Bioshock that you play through and go: "That was great, what's the next game I want to play now." It's more of a game to play over and over again (every time its a bit different) and see how well you can do or play online in Versus and play as the Special Infected.

I actually got my wife to play with me over the weekend and despite her unfamiliarity with first-person-shooters, she did pretty well and we made it through No Mercy in about an hour and a half.

As for console vs. PC, due to the simplistic controls and lack of an inventory of weapons, this game plays really well on an XBOX (much better than HL:2 or TF:2 played). Plus, console players get to play on a big-screen TV with Surround Sound for the extra special movie experience.

Not getting anyone's tempers raised but if you look at the 360 controller and the mouse...it's much easier to point and click to fire then fiddle around with a stick. And PCs have keyboards so you can still communicate even if you don't have a mic.
Don't get me wrong, 360s are good. I just prefer pc.

Ozymandias: Well you could just buy a really big plasma screen monitor with surround sound and play with that, the experience is equal.

And i think the inclusion of a female character in the game as attracted a bigger crowd of girl gamers too.

I didn't say it was better than a keyboard/mouse, I said that it played well on a console (unlike TF2 for example). And one could buy a big monitor for a PC, but if you already have a television, that's a big expense (on top of an already expensive expense in a gaming PC). I already have a 42" 1080p Plasma, why spend more money so I can use marginally better controls?

To each their own.

I think it's still down to preference(even though you're correct on a technical level) as I'm better with the analog stick than a mouse. More practice and my thumbs are steadier than my hand as a whole, as often results from playing certain instruments for a long time. No where near as bad as violinists, as I can keep my hand steady when I focus, unlike most of my violinist friends.
