Thread over on Warseer claiming that he might have gone. I know at least some of his partners in crime post or at least stick their heads in here, any confirmation or denial ? I'd much prefer the latter, but if he has then all the best fella !

That's Dave Thomas. He also invented the square burger and a special burger flipper so you can flip the square burgers easily and not mess up the other ones. I learned that from the Food Network!

Dave ''Mr. Bitz Box'' Taylor? Perhaps he's miffed at getting squeezed out of WD. Any man would crack after being replaced by a LOTR advert.

For the record, Dave is the awesome painter and army converter who heads up the Community Events team for GWUS (running the GTs and Games Days). His armies are gorgeous. He is a super good guy and very responsive to the players. He even posts on here occasionally.

Um....he hasn't quit. I just spoke with him yesterday and the week before. He's still working for the company in full force. Lately he's been kind of recluse though, family matters as it seems. So, no worries, he's still going about the company nicely.

Hi guys

Yes, unfortunately I'm no longer under the employ of Games Workshop. While no details need to be entered into it is suffice to say that I'm disappointed to not be working for GW, but things will continue apace with the growth of GW, particularly in the US, and that Chris "Go-go" Gohlinghorst and John Shaffer will continue the great work that we (as the Community Development team) have begun. There are always teams in the GW structure that are keen to support all community activity and I'm sure that a positive approach can be achieved with these great guys.

Cheers
Dave

Okay, I'm speechless...

And, once again, GW loses an excellent hobbyist and a top contributor.

Thank you for everything Dave over the years. You've been an inspiration - hope this isn't the end for you in either the hobby or these public forums.

Dave, this sucks dude. You are one of the nicest guys I've run into on the GT circuit. The best thing about you is that we only talked a handful of times, but you always remembered me when I came up to you with questions. That mean a lot to people, and that's what made you a great addition to the GW family. Wish you nothing but luck and success in what ever you do. PS, I'm Romeo the guy with the Marines style IG army.

Don't worry guys, with 17 years invested in a hobby I still love I'll be around in the US community for a while to come ; )

and @diablobats, how could I ever forget a name like Romeo, or those cool bats you did for the Direct guys.

I'll keep an eye out on the Dakka community, keep having fun guys!

Cheers

I still want that rematch from 2004, Taylor....I'm not gonna let something like being let go from the company stop that from happening!

My favorite memory from that match, Keith (apart from neither of us remembering who actually won the game), was that it was when I let my now-wife's parents know that I'd be asking their daughter to marry me soon, they were excited by the news, confused by the gaming. Oh the look on their faces ; )

Good thing it all worked out for the best.

Cheers

hmmmm. let us think about this for a bit.

ard boyz was/is a direct sales event.

dave taylor ran the "community" program.

direct sales and "community" program are not related.

so no need to wonder anymore because it is not even remotely related.

So what does this so-called "community" program consist of if it is not even remotely related to community events? Just curious.

So the "GW Hobby" has now lost, in my opinion, one of their best "hobby" men?

White Dwarf, which was already on a downward spiral, just went into a nose dive.

Dave, you'll be missed, but hopefully you'll still contribute when and where you can!
