Oh! OK, I see what you were talking about. I was talking about the "indents" between what i will call the "Fins", and you were talking about the fins? (See picture for details.)

I really like the fins the way they are, they say "Heat Ray Gun" to me without infringing (as far as I know) upon anyone elses Itellectual Property.

I think turning them the other way would look too much like a Tesla Coil, and that is not the way I wanted to go with them. If you want a tesla gun, there are others out there who have made them, and I don't want to reinvent the wheel, just my vision of the wheel.

Or you could get mine and convert it using Zinge's Tesla Coils. They do look very good.

I think your blender stuff is very impressive

I'd say keep the fins the way they are.

All that stuff you have had cut out already is amazing too, best looking shotgun ever

Thanks Tipios! I did the first half of the mold for the weapons last night. The printing process leaves a kind of checkered pattern on the items. I can already see it in the mold. I'm not sure how that is going to look on the resin copies, but since it's "steampunk" it might look good. Once the mold is done...should be tonight or tomorrow, I'll do a pour, and primer the guns and wash them, and we'll see exactly what they are going to look like.

In other news, I have a new commission project I would like to share with you. You know of the Heresy Investigator that is almost done, the Female IG Priest, and the Female Tech Priest that I still need to start. I have a new commission to do another Female Commissar. Sort of.

It's a My Little Pony Commissar.

I will also be adding a trenchcoat, but I thought it would obscure details on the concept sketch. The Commissar hat will be removable and there will be a separate hair piece that will have a unicorn horn that can be added.

I am excited about this sculpt, as I can make copies for my daughter to play with!

Also, there will be some accessories for Space Marines. To be specific, samurai type shoulder pads and leg armor. And trench coats for Space Marines too.

Also, I will be making a Hand-held Steampunk Gatling Gun Based on the Original Gatling Gun! I am alos very excited about this!

emperor bacon - Thanks for adding your voice, and thank you for the commission!

I'm affraid, the MLP project may have left the regular visitors speachless.

Anyway, as the result of a random internet search, I followed my way to Forge World as so often happens.

Two things: One, have you seen this new flier for IG?
The AVENGER STRIKE FIGHTER! I think it looks really cool!

Second, I have to ammend my previous statement about the Heat Ray muzzle. It looks almost exactly like the Heresy Era melta gun for Marines.

This is indead sad news. I will have re-work the muzzle completely. I admit I have seen this picture before in other threads, but I never took a close look as I don't care for that style of missile launcher, so I never took a close look at the melta gun either. So, next version will indeed have the "perpendicular" fins that Vik suggested. (Calm down Vik, it's not a bad word.)

Thanks for stopping by.

Jake man..they can't sue you for having fins or vents, they don't have fins and vents trademarked at all. You can make it any way you want, it'll be fine.

Well Vik, the Trenchcoats are the man wants. Who am I to argue? Actaully I think they will look pretty good. He wantes them to go over MK III armor from FW. So, you know, I had to order some of the Mk III armor to make sure the coats will fit....I HAD to!

Yep!

I plan on making armatures of all my current projects this weekend and next week. Then we'll see how the MLP shapes up!

Also, the resin has been poured for the 3D printed weapons! We'll see in a little bit how they came out!!!

will you sculpt the pony (punny) commissar from scratch or will you use a MLP pony as an amature?

Made in us

Everett, WA

From scratch. It's going to be size appopriate for IG, standing about 25 to 28 mm high.

So the resin copies of the guns came out great! There is some cross-hatch patternnig on them from the printing process, and I don't think I could have sanded it off of the originals, but it looks pretty good anyway. I took some pictures, but my dowload cable is at work, so I'll upload them Monday. I also took a picture of the machine gun with a space marine, and I think it will be a great autocannon conversion! I'll have to add some spikes and such for chaos, but it looks pretty good.

Have a great rest of the weekend! Later,

RSJake

An "H" tail fighter, and compact too!

Hey, do not mock the "Fish launcher" pattern missile launcher! it is a retro look from waaaaaaaaaaay back RT days!(^th ed is sooooo retro don't you know?)

I wasn't mocking it Shas, I just don't like it! It reminds me of the first box of plasitc beaky marines I ever bought...I didn't like those either. I still have bits of them floating around. not sure what happened to the bodies...

But the first pour of resin with the printed weapons turned out pretty good!

The shotguns looks pretty good, and you can see more detail now:

The hammer is of course still too small, but I can use them for something I'm sure:

Maybe I'll make a diorama of IG guys working on putting in a railroad or something.

The autocannon is huge, and looking pretty good:

I really need to make a tri-pod or something for this thing!

And with a bit of converting and adding some spikey bits and a blade under the barrel, it will make a GREAT weapon for my Chaos Havocs!
