Oh I miss that show!!!

RW, I should have them ready in a week or so! (theoretically at least.)

hahli87942 - Thanks for dropping by! Yeah, it's supposed to be a Daemon Hammer, so I guess it's about the same thing, it should be massive.

I am working on upscaling the hammer.
Think this:

but the same legth as the sledge.

And thanks Vik! Isn't 75, the Silver celebration?

Sure, it's no 300, but I'll get there one day.

yup hammer was such a cool show... tho it looses a bit of the fun and glamour it had when you watch it now... same with all the other grand shows... like A-team and Mc Gyver...

Hey Jake,
I'm glad you're back to business and we're all past bashing vegetarians...

I really like the Hammer, and I think could be quite usefull to any mounted troops as a close-in weapon (like for Bikers), but in general if you compare your hammer with what we have for 40k, you realize that the diameter of the handle is too thin- though a lot more realistic, but not 40k-isitc The new version seems to meet that requirement
The shotgun is pure sex!
I really love it, but I'd like to see it with primer on it, and see how the details look then (pretty please?)
And the MG is huge - reminds me of the old WWII BAR gunners.
Way to go Jake!
Cheers
Klaus

this about sums it up for me, that hammer looks really dope, and it is correct scale, but a demon/thunderhammer is meant to be obnoxious, i mean just look at the name! On that note anyway I do look the scale of the hammer since it does seem more realistic, maybe fatting up the head would make it look more vicious and worthy of its name.

The computer image you showed seems to be right on point, just more cords...always lol.
Great looking model so far, love the stuff, and keep on working so we get some more wonderful updates!

Skalk, PM replied!

Klaus - Thank you! And I think there wasn't TOO much veg bashing, just affirming our Carnivore-ness.

I am getting a quote for printing the hammer, the energy blade handle and few other things currently, and hopefully they will be cheaper than Shapeways, but if not, Shapeways it is, and I'll have them printed and visible IRL soonish I hope. ( a month tops).

I am currently working on Nurgle Bikers in my World Eaters thread, and I may use the sledge for the Biker Champion once I get resin copies made. We'll see.

I have the hammer, the shotgun and the machine gun resting on the clay to make a mold, but that is as far as I got last night before the Nurgle Bike stole my attention completely away. (Just 2 more minutes on the bike, and then I will make a mold.....just 10 more minutes...)

Sageheart - Parts of the above comment apply to you too. I really am trying to get the investigator done, I know you said no hurry, and I appreciate your patience, but I want to get a move on as I have other projects I want to do to. So, I will cast up the hammer, and work on fattening the hammer head and see where that gets us, and if that doesn't work, I'll get the Oversized version printed up, and see if that works.

The problem with 3D printing is there is no reliable way to see what it will look like with a model until it is printed.

Well thanks all for the comments, and if I missed anyone that wasn't talking about A-Team or Sledgehammer, or Quantum Leap, please let me know.

I'm hoping this won't get auto-appended, but here goes.

I have been working on some more 3D models. This time a re-do of my hand crafted Steampunk Laser Rifle, and a Steampunk Heat Ray Gun based off of the laser rifle.

Let me know what you think!

I love the heat ray! Laser rifle looks a bit barren, maybe some cooling vents or a bigger charge pack would help?

Not sure what else I can put on the Laser Rifle that will come across after printing. I'll look into the charge pack though, see if I can bulk it up.

RSJake wrote:Nice! That will look good! I am torn between a Khorne/Nugle combined army, and an all Nugle Army with Epidimius. Both sound fun.

I'm going for more of a "Carved from Rock" feel, I want it to resemble a stone bowl, with jagged rocks around the edge, and one large central column underneath. there will be doors/caves in the base to allow access.

Also, does anyone know the best way to glue layers of pink insulation board together? I want to get started on this soon, but I need to get it blocked out first.

Also, and update!
Mostly just of the 3D printed items I got from Shapeways last week.

The Hammer is kind of small, don't know if I should shorten the handle and increase the scale, or just sculpt it myself.

And then, the shotgun, which I am really happy about!

And the Machinegun, which could be a substitute for an Autocannon!

The problem areas I see are that all the detail I put into the 3D images just don't come across at this scale. You can see the "gears" and stuff, but they are just not that detailed. But I am still excited about getting more stuff done!

I had to use the transparent material, which is more expensive, because it allows smaller detail to be printed, but still it was not small enough. I'll have to make the details larger and almost cartoonish in size for them to be seen.

I also have some picutes of what I have been doing and what I am planning for my army, but those I will post soon on my World Eaters page.

Thanks for stopping by, feel free to comment on the 3d Printed items, or whatever you feel like.

RSJake

About the left arm......isn't it a little to distant rom the body!? i mean, the shoulder area look a little strange and innatural! Maybe you have to fix it!

the laser rifke needs some more details on the magazin...

and the muzzle on the heat gun could use some indent if i am not misstaken...

but other than that... lovely pieces!!!

Fantasy Bob - The left arm is just held on with sticky tack, and it slipped a bit before I could take a picture. I am keeping it separate for casting purposes, but when it is on right it looks fine. I'll try to get a picture of it attached right at some point.

Vik, I will work on the laser magazine. And the muzzle on the heat ray does have indents, but I will make them deeper to be more visible.

Also, if you are interested, I have been working on belts of ammo and magazines. I'm not sure if they different enough from Zinges stuff to make it worth selling, but only time will tell. It's hard to get a good idea of what scale they will be until they are printed, so I will have to get them printed soon. Along with a bunch of other stuff.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
OK, so I played with the charge pack of the rifle some, let me know what you think:

The back side of the rifle is pretty plain, but it will usually be against the chest of the model, so it will rarely be seen anyway.

And a pic showing the deeper indents on the heat ray gun muzzle.

Oh, I see. Well, I wanted them to not look like GW weapons, but to at least be recognizable for what they are.

And it's hard to tell, but the circle on the left side of the laser mag is a guage with needle!
