Hmm. I'm not that big on it. It's cool, but they just didn't pull it off as well as the Baneblade.

compared to other's nice conversions its indeed missing some details that a retail version should have.

- it should have a more detailed head / pilot area.
- it need a torso body cannon , looks so plain without it.

the 2 arm weapons it does have are really nice though.

No freakin' way! That's awesome. And a huge improvement over the original Apoc ones that were a little too thin at the top.

I'm sold. That's a Stompa alright. It's not the thin ugly things from Apoc, nor is the old rolly-polly round things from Epic. It's a Stompa!

I was going to post something along the lines of "I've seen better conversions on the-waaagh", but it occurred to me that I ought to check my facts before I make that claim.

And the truth is, I haven't. Honestly, I've been scanning the website's 'best of' threads, and I can't say I've found a model I prefer to this one. The more I look at it, the more I like it. I even prefer this model to Ein's stompa, which I've had the privilege of seeing in the flesh.

This is a very good model.

That's sick. You Ork players get all the love... The model is wicked awesome. I hope I get to fight one some day!

It's a good one, the head seems a little off but that's it for me really. I like the grot riggers everywhere and those little additions that make it stand out. Gorkzilla shall rise next year!

This and the new variants for the baneblade chassi are going to be awesome.

It's cool, but the arms are still too thin. Now way the stompa could swing that chainsaw! And he needs a groin gun .

Beautiful looking model. I really like it. Even if somebody isn't too keen on everything about it, that is a lot of gubbinz you get to play with for all manner of things, and being plastic, it is easy to add stuff to it or take stuff away from it.

A great addition to the Ork model range.

I can't argue with the first point, but for the second: the model reflects the Apoc rules for stompas, which unfortunately don't have a gut-mounted gun. The old plastic Epic-scale stompas don't have one, for that matter. Though the newer metal models got one, they're also mounted on tracks, which in my mind just isn't proper.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Now I am going to do what I always do with "go-with-the-flow"-scenarios:

I hate that model. I thought the eldar warwalker looked fanmade, but this: It looks like a balloon with metal scalearmour, a stupid looking head and those astrocities they call arms... I mean they look like they would make more damage to the enemy by flying into them propelled by the recoil of firing. And the grot bombs look to small to contain a grot..Again. I am not even considering buying that.

You know, my friend recently made a remark on that I had become more cynical about GW. He might be right

The epic stompas of old did not have body cannons, the gargants did. Actually, stompas were as big as knights, which weren't quite as big as warhound titans. But who cares about scale anyway...

It does look pretty damn awesome.

Interesting. I'm not a big fan of the flowerpot design either, but I guess I'll buy one anyway. I only have 3 Superheavies so far for my Ork army

I'm not sure which weapons I would use though. I wasalways a fan of the Big Mek Stompa concept, buit then I wouldn't get giant chain saws...

I like the model, but i dont think its as detailed as it could be. Nor as solid. It feels like it could easily be smashed apart, it dosent look 'superheavy' as it were.

You know, on principle I'm not fond of a box set gargant, but in practice, I like the ramshackle look that allows it to fit in with the more creative Meks out there.

I would, however, kill any of you to see more detailed pictures.

Yep same as Baneblade from what the scuttlebutt is currently.

As for the model? A collective 'Meh' should be heard by Ork players roudn the world.

I like this model, but it also looks like something easily made with spare parts lying around the house.

Not nearly as impressive as the Baneblade when it came out.

Daggermaw, the ork player in our group, is gonna crap a solid gold shoota when he gets to put 2 or 3 of these down on the APOC table. It's been a long time coming, I'm glad to see the orks get a superheavy. And I think it looks great! Now we just need the Warhound Titan and some superheavies for some other races...GW is impressing me with how they continue to support APOC. Maybe an Eldar Titan, or a Necron superheavy next year to go with the Warhoud we all know is coming!

Only problem with Eldar or Necron Superheavies is GW would be hard pressed to get a return on their investment of making the moulds (tens of thousands of dollars) as Eldar and Necrons likely won't sell near as many as Imperial Baneblades do, or even this Stompa if his price stays at the Baneblade price point.
