I was looking at WD346 and in one of the battle pictures from GW open day they show this:

In the background are some Cities of Death style fortifications that I don't recognize? Are there any rumors of CoD type bunkers and fortresses?

I'd love to see an updated version of the old cardstock Imperial Firebase and Bastion.

That's the Imperial landing zone, featured quite liberally in the 5th edition rulebook and has been hinted at by some as the next CoD kit along with new building tiles and a modular bunker. They are supposed to see daylight around the same time as Planet Strike, which seems to have been pushed back to 2010.

Well tell them to hurry up!

I'm tired of skull encrusted ruins, i want something that belongs in a warzone.

I'll second that.

Is the main reason I really like the Warhammer Buildings...they aren't *ruins*.

It's very easy to make a complete building a ruin, and incredibly taxing to do the reverse. However, to be fair, it's only recently both games have received fairly workable Building rules (in terms of going in and out, and fighting) so some slack is allowed...but not for ever *shakes fist semi-menacingly in the vague direction of Nottingham*

I've also noticed in the CoD book that there appear to be some "tiles" that are used in their buildings that are not apart of the current kits. I'm not sure if this is because they were hand cast, or they were prototypes, or what, but they've definitely been cast, as often as they appear.

They were prototypes, IIRC.

Yep. A lot of the stuff you see in the Apoc/CoD books (and in the Black Templars Codex for that matter) is the 'generic' CoD tiles that were made but never released because they weren't ornate enough.

Of course I'd kill just to get my hands on that set. I love the CoD sets and something a little less OTT than the skull-walls of skully-skullness would be nice. That landing platform/bunker thing is completely made from these prototype tiles, so I doubt it's a real release.

I remember those old plastic and card stock buildings, those things were really cool. A buddy of mine converted the card stock to platicard and remade them. They lookd amazing, but then, he was a multiple golden demon winner.

I'd also like to get my hands on a pile of their 3-up panels that they use for some of their city board, that would be sweet.

Some of you might be interested in these! NO SKULLS here. Scroll down to the Gothic section, they have released 2 new sets with arches! I recently ordered these from Neal, these are really really cool. I have big plans.
( unfortunately one of them was missing the shippment and the other was missing a few parts :( I have no doubt it just my rotten luck and Neal will fix this issue forth with, that aside I bought all the previous kits and the product is top notch.)
IIRC Kyoto as illustraed the coolness of the older kits already!

Power Plant sadly only came in the Storm of Vengeance campaign pack. There was also the Firebase, which was the first one they brought out. There was another - the command bunker - that I saw on eBay once about 4 years ago but have never seen since.

But they're civilian buildings, I'd not like some bunkers and fortifications.

No, it`s not crazy talk. Especially if you happen to organize a battle against Catachans using the OLD "Death world veteran"-rules they had in yesteryear.
I played several Vietnam-style battles ( "A Shau-valley" ) with my Marines against my friends Catachans. And boy did he kick the some armoured Astartes butt!
The little buggers just kept appearing from behind palm trees carrying demolition charges.... Don`t underestimate the power of the banana tree.

Might want to check this guys stuff out. He uses mostely GW and Platformer stuff mixed with some basic electric/plumbing supplies but I really find his stuff to be amazing considering is simplistic and rather straight foward constructions. Its hes paint of his stuff that really makes it stand out for me but all and all its stuff any one could duplicate with a few kits. ( the construction part any way)

It's truely some amazing pieces. Looks like it's really two guys, but they really get a lot done. The terrain looks to be interesting, modular, and usable with figures, which is an extremely hard combo to pull off.
