Btw Lucifer, somebody griefed your underwater house, it was floded badly. I patched it up where the leaks were with cobblestone.

Well apparently lucifer another users stuff vanished from their chest only to appear in yours...

I presume it is lucifers house, the large underwater dome was partway flooded.

I think lego will be able to sort this out, unless I've been wrong about the logs.

As for the drama, it is negligible in game to be honest Ifalna so I would give it a go before making any decisions.

It was single blocks that were destroyed in about 4 places, even then explosions from creepers dont damage anything when they are in water.

Creepers don't explode underwater.

They explode but cant damage blocks, only hurt players.

@ Ifalna as long as you build well away from the spawn area and the veritable nest of building complexes set up there, and get into the wilderness, I'm sure you'll not get grieved; I doubt people would bother to treck it to you just to nick stuff when they can to others closer by.

On a brighter note the Spleef Arena is basically completed now. Just needs a few more torches on the top to stop mobs from interrupting, the cover of the stand, the top of the tower to the commentator's box and the last bit of wool left for the game field itself. It sounds like it's a lot to do, but not really besides the wool perhaps.

Hmm Thisgriefing seems to be getting worse, May i suggest that we do not add people who have just joined so they can get a place on our minecraft server.

This should be a Dakka member server and have a decent number of posts, nothing unreasonable ofcourse.

My new crib is far out in the wilderness If you find me, well you'll find me there isn't anything special at the moment.

To be fair, the griefing isn't major. They aren't blowing massive amounts of stuff up.
But the small things are more annoying.
Somebody made a waterfall outside my house. Really annoying.

Would it be possible to only whitelist players who have made meaningful contributions (I do a lot in OT, but I also have a presence in the 40k and WHFB forums as well as a small one in P&M) to Dakka?

If the griefing keeps happening we know it's a player who's seen as a contributor (tightneing the net even more) and it would also force any current griefers to brush up a bit on their wargames and hobby knowledge (it is a wargaming and hobby forum after all) before they can do anything more, which would be a lot of effort for very little in the way of gain and might dissuade them).

One or two people may need to contribute a bit more (but as I said, it's mainly a wargaming and hobby forum) but at the end of the day, it's going to save people a lot of hassle and would prove that you're at least somewhat dedicated to the smooth running of the server.

Only drawback I can see is running through the whitelist and checking over everyone's profile/running through their posting history, which could be quite a large task.

Either that or whomever keeps exposing their lack of social skills and obvious hatred of people for some strange reason or other by striving to inconvenience people because they're so anal that they don't wish to leave their mum's basement, can confess and find another server to plague.
