The rumour dump from October mentioned possessed cultists, so might be a regular human & not marine. Can't figure out the thing between the horns either, could be also some kind of gem or sigil carved into the forehead?

Yeah, you are right. Looking at it more it looks like it's socketed into a fleshy mutated arm.

I was looking too much at the hydraulic part, or whatever that tubing is to power the weapon.

My first thought was power maul, but could it be the back of a skull? Skull shaped speaker? Noise marine thing?

Definitely a power mace. But looks a bit basic for a character?

That there is the back of a chainaxe folks. You can see the teeth.

Axe, maul, mace, whatever, it's a Chosen's weapon.

Assuming all of these are for the rumored CSM vs Eldar box, and the CSM side is Warpsmith + Chosen + Forgefiend, then I think it's some more of the Chosen. Chainmail, chains, tattered cloth/skin. Could be the Warpsmith though.

Down the right hand side behind the chain you can see the edge of a marine leg, it's definitely another chosen or normal power armour guy.

I'd like to think it was Chosen, the Havoc kit has a lot of mail and so on. t
The text is interesting. Definitely seems to confirm there will be an Eldar v Chaos box.

These Rangers are getting a bit odd, even for those on the Path of the Outcast...

Right, and "ancient enemies" could be covered by saying the Eldar are from Ulthwe. They've been fighting Chaos for a long time. And Chosen are Veteran CSM, so they're ancient enemies of pretty much everyone.

And if we're going to parse every single word from the text: I notice it mentions "lightning crashes". Hmmmm.......CSM and lightning........

Looks like a loin cloth to me - styled similarly to what we see on the existing CSM kit.

There might be a power armoured leg and knee to the right as well. But that'd make it more of a tabard.

That mail looks more damaged than the stuff on existing CSM kits. Even the death guard have less mangled links.
The stuff behind the chain doesn't clearly seem to be a power-armour leg to me. Not saying it isn't, just that it could conceivably be something (indeed, almost anything) else.

Question: These "VS" sets, do they typically build two legal matched play forces? One of each side? The SoB vs DE and 1ksons vs GK, did they both make legal Patrols? How about Custodes vs GSC?

They make legal forces more often than not, but it's not a hard rule; e.g. the SoB side of Piety & Pain was not a legal patrol. If current rumours pan out then the Eldar side of the battle box will be a legal patrol while the CSM side will not be a legal matched play force, which wouldn't be unusual.

Well if its marines in service of Slaanesh it makes more sense.

I mean, not really. Eldar and Chaos are absolutely "ancient enemies", they are nothing but. It doesn't matter what flavour of chaos it is.

yeah, it's a weird one. I'd say chaos all day long until I see the gemstone like additions on the plate and Eldar 'cutout" on the plate, but this looks nothing like Eldar at all.

It's 100% another Warpsmith mechatendrite, it's got the little melta dents and those "gems" might be more akin to "eyes".
