Star Rangers

I just dont want to conjure imagrey of "Power Rangers". I dunno if the name is silly or not.

It's stupid. Really stupid. But it has a ring to it.

Thats the problem I think...I really like the ring it has, but it also conjures images of toys for 5 year olds and birthday cake designs.

I don't like it. It sounds like it's more likely to be outsmarted by a cosmic bear then kill some xenos scum.

More imaginative than "Space Wolves". I'll vote pretty cool. I may regret it later.

Doesnt look good 30 views and only 4 votes....well, the good news for you is that 30 people dont think the name is REALLY stoopid.

It's p gay but that's probably why I like it.

It strikes me as one of those "so corny it's awesome" names.

It's certainly more original than adjective+animal or religious-reference+of+epic-noun chapter names.

Using "Star" has been WAY overused in our culture for science fiction, so we've been over-exposed. And Rangers conjures up campy TV shows for kids (Planet Rangers, Power Rangers, etc).

I think you're better off starting from scratch. Think Dark.

Voted - Pretty Cool but I could probably think of more original names, possibly even campy names.

Still it rings out, I can almost picture a grey-ish/offwhite armor with blue shoulders and white stars...

also, GW seems pretty low on names currently, lizardmen got hit worsed by the recent special character "Tiq'Taq'toe"

It's corny, especially since it brings to mind that terrible sci-fi show from the early 90s, but it's also got a certain ring to it.

It's not as gay as the "rainbow warriors" but its up there...

They should be Space Rangers, like Buzz Lightyear.

Lizardmen had lame character names look at the mounts the Special Chars have

Grymloq, Kroq-Gar's Carnosaur
Zwup, Tiq'Taq'Toe's Terradon
Zlaaq, Lord Mazamundi's stegadon

its a gay name, but 'ultramarines' is on the same wavelength when you really think about it.

Im in support of either going with Star Rangers & being all tongue in cheek about it & giving the chapter master a cowboy hat & sherrif star, as per Bunker's idea

I just thought they were being literal.

Anyway.

The Rangers Chapter might be a better fit.

The only reason it might sound weird is that Rangers are a type of military group like Marines. Maybe Wardens or Raiders would work better, since these are things that Rangers do.

Why not go the whole way down the yellow brick road and have done with it: Super Star Pals.

Super Friends will also be an acceptable and original name that isn't cliche grimdark.

No? and 80% of DIY chapter names sound "gay" as you call it, but then again, so does most SM chapter names.... what about impereolis rangerium? might work as there HQ building or something, but you could be fance and make it greek..... thats probubly where they stole half the names from....

you might aswell make it corny and silly.. most people will appreciate it and are therefor more likley to underestimatr you and tacticaly fail.... unless there a ruthless dictator, or seemingly orks like most people tend to beleave...

i thought of a realy silly cheesey name, "Orions Aunterauge" or maby both words spelled correctly. FIX MY SPELLIN BUG!!
