"Why mess with success" appears to be the new GW watchword. First the Valkyrie, now this. Very alike to their predecessors, but should go together better.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

So tempting to start a black powder themed empire army... the fact it could be all plastic is even worse...

looks great, absolutely perfect

A little part of me dies when it thinks of a puritan Inquisitor reading the Rites of Damnation to a heretic then throwing him off a ladder through a table.

Looks great. Say what you will, but at least GW has learned one lesson - you need to keep releasing models for armies from time to time. Not all just at once!

So thats it then.

Just Greatswords to come in Plastic, and there will be no metal Empire barring the odd character.

Now if only they did that for High Elves. Then I might be tempted into expanding my collection.

Uh-oh. My LGS already has the full meal Deal set (Book, characters, etc.), The Battalion, and the set w. Flagelants, Wizards and Hellblaster. Throw a Plastic Tank into the mix, and I might not be able to help myself...

It's okay. I don't think it's "Whoa" enough to make a Space Ork tank out of it.

Might fit well into a Skaven army though

With a little work and modding it could be turned into a nice steampunk tank for special 40k scenarios. I can see my feudal Guard use one of these, maybe change some parts to make the rear look like a crude combustion engine.

Does this mean that every empire army will now run one of these? :(

If this is cheap enough it may be worth buying one to 'victorianise'. Bung a Praetorian in the turret and off we go.

I'd have to lose the silly pintle mounted weapon and find some less caricatured cannons though. Maybe put a Gatling gun in the turret.

Yep. My VSF and "lacepunk" fantasies are all coming true. If priced well, I'll gladly pick this kit up. Huzzah!

I've got a metal one, partially-prepped but unbuilt, and I'm thinking, wow, I'll bet that thing assembles nicely, unlike every single report I've ever seen about the metal one...

Now I think the metal one is slightly better-detailed, particularly the prow.

But if this is buildable without driving one to madness, I'd strongly consider it if I were pushing Empire as my project for this year.

Aw, Crap. don't make the steam Tank in plastic, it's expense and assembly difficulty is the only thing keeping the local Empire TFG from fielding one. I loathe the Steam Tank, it just doesn't fit in the era that WFB palys in to my mind.

My Inquisitorial retinue is definitely going to recruit that engineer model.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Le sigh...

There are only 8 of these things in the world and it gets a plastic model? That makes no sense.

Well, if I ever start Fantasy I'll be doing up a Warcraft-based army (either Night Elves, old Alliance, or Orcs/Horde)... and this coming out in plastic may have made that choice REALLY easy. That thing'll turn into a wonderful Dwarven Steam Tank.

I imagine the next Empire Army Book will amend this to "at least 8 in active service".

Very nice, I wonder how much it will be. I'd prefer it to be nearer £20 than £40.

Looks good, if not exactly innovative like the stegadon for example. Expect to see the "last 8" steam tanks in a Apocalypse style WD battle report come the month of release.

My guess at cost would be somewhere between £25 and £35.

I never understood why Empire has steam powered tanks but the dwarfs don't. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
