Dwarfs rely on tried and tested machines, new machines are reckless in their eyes. According to the background the Organ Gun is still seen as something new and untried.

That is making me consider getting some Praetorians just to convert it into a steam Leman Russ

Yeah but some Dwarf holds dont have them as they consider those reckless technology.

dwarfs have flying machines (gyrocopters and zeppelins), cannons that fire huge flames, and handguns built better than any empire gun.
in all aspects they are more advanced than empire, yet they cant build a steam powered tank?

dwarfs even use steam powered posthetics! (hands, arms ect ect)

allthough, im pretty sure a dwarf steam tank would be about 2 foot tall and 4 foot long

why use a pickaxe? they could make a small steam tank with a drill attatched to make mining and tunnel building easier.

P.S. Dwarfs don't use tanks because much of their military action is in tunnels and mines, you try driving a bloody tank in a mine. It's the same reason why thier cannons are so dinky

Don't see the need for a steam tank plastic kit, though. But if it makes the converters happy than more power to them.

read the rules for dwarf handguns, says they are the best engineers in that descrip.
empire are just a little more colourful with what they make, like the failing "bomb pidgeon" (which tended to return to its owner still with the bomb)

I'm seeing a reenactment of that storyline from Turn Signals with Emperor Barkeep and his army of Steamtanks.

They have those actually, it's an option for a mining champion. Well the steam drill anyway ;-)

Oh, for the love of crap, I just finished up my 6th Ed. Empire army. Now it looks like it's getting ebayed to fund and all-plastic 7th Ed. one. Dammit GW, why?

p.s. On Dwarven Stanks, they don't build them cos they wouldn't perform too well on a mountain side. Use a Gyrocopter instead. (And it wouldn't work too well in a tunnel either and you'd end up steam broiling your own troops)

Dwarfs are too busy building ironclads and nautiluseses and such to bother with little bitty tanks.

While BolS is still being slowed over this MYSTERY, I guess we can all agree that this is the new plastic War Altar with a plastic Volkmar / high priest of Sigmar on it.

That's a conversion. Those horses are ANCIENT, the crowned skulls on their sides are from the old Empire Swordsmen shields. The braziers are from the Corpse Cart, the small griffon statues from the Empire General kit.

The guy who invented them died after only building 8. Empire engineers have been able to keep the 8 they have running but can't figure out how to build new ones.

What about the one the Skaven stole and made into a Skaven Stank? Wouldn't that mean 9 were built?

If Gotrek and Felix are a credible source then there are more steam tanks out there, Nuln is packed with them.

There were 12 Built, but only 8 survive.
