First pic will shut people up thankfully, the second pic is a pretty old one of a Dark Eldar splinter rifle design done with software.

edit.

Vanquisher has a shorter range, can no longer fire regular HE rounds and from the look of things the fluff section of the codex will be very minimal seeing as they squash all tank patterns onto a single page.

great find, Luna!
i think the first pic answers some questions.
looks like no "get's hot" or all ones and go boom
for the Executioner! just found out what i'm ordering
from FW next.
would anybody guess that the chimera looking turret in the
second pic is the Devil Dog or the Bane Wolf?
thanks again Luna!

It's the Executioner to my eyes. Look at the detail on the armour plate and behind in comparison to the drawing above.

Obviously vehicles with plasma weapons never suffer from the "Gets Hot!" rule.

The second picture turret is a proposed Russ redesign, borrowing heavily from the current Baneblade design. This would be the Executioner turret, hence the plasma cannon.

So does that mean the executioner can fire three plasma blasts a turn?

So it vould seem. I can already smell the anger of the ham-fisted opponents facing just one of those tanks and their cries for whatever they cry when they face something "unfair".

Then they flail those smelly excuses for arms around, a disgusting aroma wafting from the pits of their arms.

Okay, I am not looking forward to the new codex now.

Hmm, reading the Nova Cannon entry it is in fact nothing more than a miniature Hellhammer cannon, firing the same "unstable" hotchpotch.

The Eradicator can fire its main weapon and defensive weapons if it moves, and all of its weapons if it is stationary.

Ok well with a statline like that no one's going to take the Vanquisher. 75% of all your shots get ignored before you even roll for penetration... forget it.

the vanquisher pic doesn't have sponsons.. so I guess it's safe to say sponsons are still optional?

I was planning to build my squadrons as the lead tank having sponsons and the 2 others without.. or is that not "propper"?

That does suck. It's a shame, because that was such a pretty tank. Now between cover and poopy BS on IG tanks it'll collect dust.

All hail the exterminator! It IS heavy 4, twin linked.

Call me blind but all I see is a statline, normally special rules are on another page so for all you know the codex could rule it auto-hits tanks.

Not quite. As it is a Leman Russ it can move up to 6 and fire it's turret weapons and all otehr weapons.

However its max speed is 6+d6 inches. Same as all Russ tanks as they are "slow and lumbering".

And I'm not sure if anyone has been following, but Warseer's Reds8n has seen the book firsthand and is shooting off some previews.

Is this a new special rule for LR's? Say it has a hull-mounted lascannon, it can move 6" and fire both main weapons and all defensive weapons?

Do the Ordinance turrets also act the same way with this rule?

EDIT: I believe this is what I was looking for.
Lumbering Behemoth rule - The turret gun does not count towards the number of weapons fired (Ordnance or not) but cruising speed is only 6+D6" instead of 12".

Theres only one response to all of this.

I see nothing wrong with it, I have a mix of Russes with and without sponsons. Mostly because I picked up a bunch uses and some where in horrible condition so I just ripped them off. But mixing and matching is fine to me.

Edit: Oh, and in the third picture, toward the bottom left, anyone notice the Gorgon? It looks like it's built off a Baneblade hull, not a Macharius hull. It's a nice looking conversion if it is, wonder how it was made?

In the new Codex? Possibly.

The Tau have Strength and Accuracy and IG have Bulk shooting. Comes down to point cost now.

Blood Angel Neophyte Undergoing Surgeries

-Exterminator might be nice for big MC's that aren't packing a good armor save, greater daemons come to mind. TL makes the expected BS less of a problem. Can also serve some function against very light transports and vehicles.
-Vanquisher is your long-arm of Tank killin', although with a single shot one has to wonder if there will be a means to improve the usual BS of 3 for IG tanks.
-Eradicator has Horde-killer written all over it. No 'hit' roll is all kinds of fun.
-Demolisher has 'kill everything' written all over it.
-Punisher looks... promising. Nothing says 'I love you' like some 29 dice Strength 5 shots going out against lightly armored horde, although again, the IG BS will be it's downfall.
-Executioner looks like it'll be nasty as hell, and a favorite against any army with mostly 3+ armor saves (SM, CSM, Necron all come to mind), and with no outright roll to 'hit' it will be brutal.

I now want to make a IG army with the Punisher at its core.
