That page only lists the weapon stats, so it's possible that the Vanquisher has an increased BS over the other LR variants.

That Third Pic, with all those guard on the table... Does anyone notice the Gorgon assault transport armed with mortars and based on the plastic Baneblade/stormshadow chassis/tracks. It is not the Forge World model, is that a possible new plastic kit, or did someone scratch built that thing, cause it looks clean and very close to the FW model? That Ramp looks complex to make, and more a kit item, unless you can grab one from another kit, like the floor of a valk... How many Ogryns fit into a Gorgon? That would be rude...march a Gorgon across the field and unload a lot of Ogryns...

Though the leaked summary page lists the vanquisher at BS3. Hopefully its not very expensive and there is an option to get a veteran crew or something.

I suspect the Eradicator is going to be the horde/infantry killer of choice unless its points are pretty salty. Str6 AP4 no cover kills orks, tau, eldar (other than aspects), IG... every thing without power armor or an invulnerable essentially, with no chance at saving other than FNP. Hell, Nob bikers will only be getting FNP unless they also have cybork, at a 3+ to wound.
Now, depending on the vaguaries of the "Lumbering Behemoth" rule, the fact the weapon is heavy 1 instead of Ordnance 1 might not be too exciting, but even as it stands now, it will be able to shoot every weapon when stationary. That's kind of scary.

Of course, Hellhounds damn near do the same thing now, so perhaps it doesn't matter so much as all that.

Edit: Had the nob biker wound number incorrect.

Oh, I have such mixed feelings about this pic and Reds8n's rumors over on Warseer. Of course, my first reaction is to be annoyed about the new tanks that I dislike so much. Secondly, unless the Tank Commander special character that Reds8n mentioned on Warseer has BS4 or allows you to somehow get BS4 for tank crews, the Vanquisher's not going to see the light of day. I'm digging confirmation that the Exterminator is Heavy 4, TL and Reds8n's comment that Hydras have a tracking system to counter skimmers' "go fast" and bikes' turboboost save. I just really need to wrap my head around these new tanks. To quote Garth Algar, "We fear change."

Maybe that's a new FW gorgon kit that they'll be putting out to replace the old one? But, I don't think GW would release a gorgon kit when they just put out the stormlord that's supposed to be the big troop carrier.

These new rumors are so awesome that I am beside myself with nerd glee!

And why in the world would anyone be upset at more variety in the game? That is beyond me. I am stoked for loads of new tanks, even if some of them suck. You bet your behind that I will have one of each! GW will be taking my money and we will both be happy about it. I was pissed when they went form 2nd ed to 3rd and dumbed down the codex to just 5 tanks. It is just plain good sense to have more products to buy, it provides more variety in games and more things for people to buy form the company.

Oh lordy am I looking forward to this release!

Me too...

Though maybe it cannot take sponsons? Or at least, not plasma cannon sponsons? As all the reactor power goes into feeding the ridiculous main gun?

Do you also hate triple obliterators with all your rage? It's kind of the same thing, only the tank has less BS (less important) and can be stopped from firing with a single hit (more important).

Actually yes, I do. Oblits don't get to move and shoot their three plasma canons either. Are more expensive then this is (probably) going to be. They also aren't going to be part of a squadron. Also it's going to have sponsons that get to fire along with its non ordinance redicu-gun. Those sponsons will probably get to be more plasma canons. How many plasma canons can oblits fire after moving 6 inches? I bet its not five.

Besides, I don't think it's a good idea to compare it too one of the premiere and probably a little bit too god heavy choices in this game.

I find it funny that it only loses 1 blast if it moves. This is assuming it has plasma sponsons though.

For one gun.

All guns ( or maybe 2...?) if the tank doesn't move.

Bravo - thanks for that tidbit! I'm not a huge fan of sponsons, so as long as I get one gun out of it, I'm a happy camper. Excellent!

Hey. Reds8n - one other very minor, sorta dumb question, a detail that you may or may not have noticed - what (if any) units can be armed with shotguns?

As always, it will depend on the points cost of the vehicle. But the fact that it is just a 'heavy' weapon means you can fire it along with the hull-mounted lascannon too, which would make a pretty cool dedicated AT vehicle and the Guard don't really have another one of those unless there is another new tank that fills that roll as well.

I'm not too hopeful that the Vanquisher is priced properly cheap, but you never know.

Just a note to those complaining about the Executioner, the only LR chassis that could ever use plasma cannon sponsons was the Demolisher afaik. So complaining about it shooting 5 templates is a bit premature. And the rumor was that LR went up in price too (180-200?). On average it probably wont kill more than a demolisher and can't instakill T4. It will probably be in lots of armies, but I wouldn't call it cheese unless its 150 pts or can take plasma sponsons, which I highly doubt.

PS: The other rumor thread reports the Lumbering Behemoth rule allows them to fire Ordnance AND other weapons. So you should be complaining about the Demolisher, not the Executioner.

The leaked reference sheet puts the Executioner's rear armor at 11, meaning it is a Demolisher chassis. So it is reasonable to expect Plasma sponsons.

The other rumor thread reports Lumbering Behemoth as allowing them to always fire the turret weapon. The weapon type (Ordnance, Heavy, etc.) does not matter.
