my felix by the way told me he liked the silver...and i am a bit unsure about the shinyness of that... brass would suit me to be honest better...

Oh, shiny tank Like the red, but I agree, needs some more brass to come back. Maybe a mix of silver and brass, the silver does look nice, just I'm feeling the brass more. Certainly more brass on the turret.

silver brass mix...hmmm... i could only do the fretwok in brass and whenever i have bolts i could leave them in silver...how´s about that?

Sounds good. Maybe the strips either side/above and below the Union Jack could be silver, I think they need to be something other than red anyway. Brass would work too obviously, Oh, maybe silver with brass rivets there, reversing the normal pattern?

How about this, the fretwork brass.... the panels a really dark almost browny red (dried blood like)

And where you had the lighter gold or brass, a nice dark boltgun metal colour almost down to black.

nope, there isn´t a chance to develope even further than that what is already there^^...
and i couldn´t hope to hire a male model...or come to that any model at all (except some minis of course^^) to impersonate me... too much negative image for future jobs for this model then^^

also should i add a drybrush of say blood red over the mecharite red (the base color of the tank)?

It would help pop out the rivets, parden the pun.
Also a wash after might help too.

by doing this that way i could leave the union jack as is as oposed to the suggetstion of monkey troll then... then the jack would be stading out more... i think this is quite a good idea chibi! thanks mate! and thanks for the praise too^^

and because of the wash after the drybrush i thought about a drybrush at all ^^ yep! if i just washed it it would darken too much and thus the drybrush beforehand would be the perfect way^^ so thanks a heap again^^

If my sons of corax ever got in a fight with either of you, you'd never know it. You'd either be drinking tea or vodka respectively and then you will see a blur, and soon discover that you no longer have your heads attached to your bodies.

Hi there long time no see. I see you painted your tank - twice!

f I had a recomendation at this point it would be to smoother the entire thing in dilute black wash to bring out the detail in the metalwork. It looks very Imperial!

so first things first...weety, the pics you see is indeed unwashed and will see treatment soonish^^ and to be honest...two times is what you fellas have witnessed^^ the correction work due to my sloppy painting skills is more about three to four times the tank all over...seems touchups are followed by touchups to touch up the points i carlessly overdone in the first attempt...well thats me... thought that wouldnae happen with something that big... but no chance it seems...

anvildude is spot on on this mates... not only is the tank so thickly layered in steel and vanadium and adamantium up to their ears that it is nearly imprevious, but also you have considerably underestimated the function of shinyness... this isn´t about posh and decadence...it is a very special way to hide in plain sight... think about zebras in the steppe...the heat and the surrounding terrain make it too blurry to recognize... thus hunters get confused...the bright reflections of starlight and sunlight gets sensors so much confused that the enemy has to fire next to blindly...try that once and miss and you can kiss the emperor your last farewell...not that he would care...hur hur hur...in the meanwhile the officer sips his tea and the men share a rude bottle of gin between them...after all soldiers are dying...and respect demands mourning regardless of sides...
and about terminators that cometh stampeding...they soon will find out why the "eternity" (nice name i just came up with atm^^) has such wide tracks... it is of course for crushing and grinding insolents to smithering bits!!!

Liking the red and silver especially on the turret . my only crits are she looks like she needs some more depth on the red , i know you didnt want to dirty her up too much though

thanks for the praise and the linky...i´ve stumbled over the steamtank from time to time, very nice and as discribed even funktioning papermodel! there are plenty of nice arms when following that cool link...mark you all my friends these are worth looking into too! and one day i will move into 1:1 modeling myself...i am in fact roaming shops for a suitable waterpistol for quite a long time now^^ (fruitless sadly!)

about the red sans depth... i am currently working on that and have dry (well not actulally really dry-) brushed blood red over the mecharite red... it is now a bit like that all over:






and also i have followed the hint and painted the frame of the sponsons in mithril silver and will soon make it all brass...as usual...

Well, I did say t hat it was a "what if" scenario. Not likely that my army and Viks will get so easy a chance to play against each other as transporting an army through the airports is a hassle.

But having seen the horde that is the KIG/SAA, it would need a old fashioned steamer trunk for itself.

Space Marines are so very different from IG Shrike, but yeah, Both Viks treads and the big Tanks I have use treads wide enough to grind terminators under. "Yuri, did you feel a bump?"

I am thinking of having a special rule for the "Vasily-Tank hunter", if both guns are fired as one with just one die instead of the two, then they make the main weapons into a single Strength D weapon. Instead of 2 separate S-8 + 2d6 each.

Vik could use the bow heavy flamers as the ones that make the template go 18" away from the tank and use the massive "Hellstrike" template(18" flamer template), and if twinlinked, re-roll failed wounds, now that would be a lot of crispy Orks or whatever you face!
