Elric is looking really good! Caught my eye in the challenge thread. The classic green base works wonders.

Looking forward to those living space elves! I had the Magus kit for that very purpose as well, but ended up trading it some time ago as it just gathered dust. I kinda now regret it haha.
But that Lhamean is a kit I've been eyeing far too long. Just not sure whether to use it for an Eldar or Dark Eldar conversion!

Plenty of love for the Magus. Sadly, there's a good chance only her head will be making an appearance this time around. We will see.



Zoat progress. These guys are turning out to be a lot of work, but I hope in the end it will be worth it. The guns and shields are dry-fit/blu-tacked in place. All the sculpting is done for this guy, and I will probably finish him up to solidify the look for the unit.

Avatar done. Moving away a little bit from the "print n' play" concept, but still a quick bit of work, considering. Again, went for sort of a spectral look as the army is mostly dead guys. Not entirely convinced that it works, or that the blood trail isn't too much, but better to take risks like that on 3D prints and not 100 dollar models. I think the flames along the blade work ok. Doing too much sculpting for this project.

Slow progress. Working away on challenge models. Shaved off the brow ridge and Eldared up the ears on the Yvraine seer, and built up the base for the sniper. Not pictured: a little more Zoat progress. Doing too much sculpting lately.

Not much time for painting the last few days, but a long wait has ended.



The Cthulhu DMD kickstarter has delivered. Lots of drama on this one. Been at US retail for months, but backers are still being strung along. The comments section is so salty you would float in it. I have two outstanding KS projects ( one is Kingdom Death, ugh) and I think it is for the best that they be the last.

All that said, the minis look good, the game is fun. Azathoth and Zoogs are in this version. I'm glad it is finally here.

Have not heard of that game before. Had to look it up and it seems the box contains a bunch of fricking cool minis.

Huge fan of Lovecraft's work, so can't wait to see some color on them!

I hope to paint at least a couple of the minis, Ezki. Maybe just some Old Ones. One day.

It's a fun game. Cool art and models. Co-op, which can be nice.

Started something new.



As the Eldar army is just about finished, I broke ground on the next PnP project: Tau. We'll see how this goes.

That Broadside looks a little stumpier than I remember the original model being. Is that the camera angle or am I misremembering?

He's pretty squatty, even printed at 110%. I don't have an original to compare to beyond a conversion I made several years ago, the only Tau model I ever built, based on a 1st generation broadside. The backpack is definitely bigger on mine, and the thighs look larger. Maybe they were always like this? I remember limb-lengthening being a common modification to early battlesuits. Unless I just made that up in my brain.

I know “toy like” gets tossed around a lot, but that broadside is living it. I know the goal is print and play, and he looks fine. But Tau start with an aesthetic that leans into that. Haha.

One of these days I’ll start a Tau force.

Yeah, the broadside looks a lot more "toy on a base" than the Eldar, I think. Hopefully it will be less so when seen in a group. Printing the other two broadsides now.

Seer is done. Hope she photographs OK. Pretty happy with her at the moment. Little teaser until I can get her varnished and based.

All done. Just the two minis. No time for any more. These two will have to suffice as the only living Eldar in the PnP Wraith army, for now. (I may or may not be resisting the urge to paint a small batch of Harlequins to go with them.)

Ooh, that seer is lovely. The blade turned out great-- it really pops against the black bodysuit. Speaking of black, I continue to admire your ability to spot highlight black. I can never do that to my satisfaction.
