So am I really disappointed it looks like IG infantry are getting nothing new, unlike Orks and a lto of other new boxes. Prices go up almost a 1/3 ($35 for 20 to $44 for 20) with no improvement in the product.

And an IG sgt sprue along the lines of the SM spure would be SO DARN EASY!

Well the content of the squad boxes is being halved, but the price is not.

Going from 20/box for $35 to 10 to a box for $22, what we call a 'stealth' price hike.

Anyway, what else do people wish for?

for modeling it's hard to beat the Dark Angel vet and Ravenwing sprues. A similar sprue for IG tanks with tons of skulls and eagles would be great.

Umm...you kind of described the upcoming "Command Squad" sprue.

Since you need a command squad for each platoon, you're bound to have a bunch of left-over parts anyway.

Blues, the issue is that you would then need two command squads to outfit the squads with similar weapons, and more if you want to equip the PCS with more than one of a weapon.

I gotta say, more than the price hike, GW's nasty habit of not putting all the options for a unit in their kit strikes me as irksome.

Now, if only they would offer weapons packs in their bitz service...

Regardless of whether it was the OP's point, it is still a valid observation.

The OP wants GW to make a special sprue of upgrade parts, including special weapons, at-rest/pointy arms, special heads, and kneeling legs.

They did.

The only difference is that the OP apparently wants the sprue to be included for "free" in boxes, while GW has decided to release the sprue separately and with "extra" parts (including officer parts).

Anyway, standard Guard are supposed to be faceless hordes. Platoons should be more or less identical - that's kind of the point of a military organization.

I know that people have been saying this for a while, but, folks, buy up the last of the 20-man boxes you see!

I am slightly supprised that the Imperial Guard sprues were not recut to have all the special weapons and a couple of weapon options for the sergeant.

I did spot that West Wind are doing Para heads with gas masks and I picked up the limited edition Female Commissar at the weekend so it's not all bad news (for me).

Gah. If I'm going to get an IG sprue, I want greatcoat legs with gasmask heads to convert Cadians.

Actually if they included a Sergeant sprue in the Infantry box it wouldn't be for 'free' since the infantry box has gone up in price (despite containing half what it used to). In effect, having a sergeant sprue would justify the dollar jump for each Guardsmen.

Nobody has seen any new sprues that might be for IG troop boxes, and we have seen the price and contents listed for retailers. Unless they include a command squad sprue in the box, which they won't because the command squad box is $25 by itself, then the infantry box will remain the same.

$35 AUD for 10 Guardsmen. No way are they worth as much as 10 Ork boyz. The gas-mask heads are a cool option, but the lack of sergeant bitz makes me sad. I don't even have the spare money to get the last of the 20-man boxes (mind you, my FLGS still has a surplus of the old CSM and Ork boxes out back).

The problem is the command squad has 1 of each of the specials and none of the heavies.

One of the big benefits of the repackaging that's been going on is for the first time since Rogue Trader, a boxed plastic unit has everything you need. Guardians have their heavy weapon platform, marines have all their special weapons (plus a heavy) orks have their nob etc.

But the guard is going up 33% (from $35 for 20 to $44 for 20) and you still can't make a real squad from the $22 box you get.

Hence my whinning.
