I jsut got to watch Wolverine. A friend brought me a copy. Some of the Special Effects were unfinished.
Its a pretty damn good movie. I was impressed. Especially after the crappy X-Men Last stand movie.
Its not as socially deep as Watchmen, and lots of stuff does blow up, but it aint a Michael Bay movie.
I thought the character interaction between Wolverine and Victor (Sabretooth) made the movie.
The changes from comic to movie that I noticed were tolerable, but I am sure will piss off a certain group of viewers.
Plus, I am not all that informed on the wolverine backstory. Last I read the comics was '96.
The part I wish they expanded more on was the "eternal Soldier" thing you can see in the trailer.
I am hoping for a Deadpool movie if they can get Ryan Reynolds back for it.
Hopefully I didn't drop any spoilers on people.
But I think this movie is worth watching and will probably make Marvel a little money.

It will make Fox a lot of money... Marvel has already been paid for the rights, and will probably get a cut of the profits BUT the production company is Marvel Enterprises, not Marvel Studios which is their stand alone money making machine.
Also IMDB says that Marvel Enerprises is working on X-Men Origins: Magneto for 2011 release.

He's no more a cameo than the rest of the special team at the beginning. I don't htink they do anything that they can't erase if they do a Deadpool movie.
But they didn't cover his face. I think they are going for actor recognition over character accuracy.
The best scene he's in, for me,

Watched it last night, not very impressed,Liev Schreiber made for an interesting Sabretooth,Gambit was done fairly well (although IMO not enough screen time) and The Blob was hilarious to me.
Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds)was basicly a frat boy with swords, thankfully only a brief cameo.
Although the film was'nt "awful" it was a bit meh, nothing really great about it.

I also heard bad things about Deadpool in the movie. It's not enough if he has a few one-liners, he should be talking as fast and as often as he could.
I don't expect him to be breaking the 4th wall in a movie like this (something which he does a lot on the comics), but the Suit should be there.

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity...... |

And that was with the adamantium which is a major inhibitor of his regenerative powers.
In the Age Of Apocalypse crossover he crashed a spitfire and walked out of the ball of flame and by the end of the page he was fully healed, with his haircut miraculously returned.

So you haven't seen it and are telling others to stay away. Why don't you watch it and form your own opinion.
To be fair, they never call him Deadpool, it is always "Wade". But when you know that Deadpool's name is Wade....
I get that there is no costume, cuz they are a pseudo-military unit, not superfriends.
And all he is is a minor character. One action scene, a few lines, and gone.
Just enough to make an impression. and for me, enough to want more.
But he isn't a key to the story.
I remember what Reynolds did with a similar character in Blade trinity.
So I look forward to it if there is a Deadpool movie.

From the comics I read, that is him in a nutshell. IMO, in the movie it is early enough in his career to be him without the cynicism of being damaged.
Also, it isn't like he is the most original character in the comics.
He was Spiderman with a meaner, cynical attitude, mixed with SnakeEyes. Created by the guy who drew Spidey for years, then created Spawn.
I brought the flick to a friends. We put it on in the background as we played Monsterpocalypse.
Everybody was rivetted to the movie. Half dozen guys thought it was good. (One guy refused to watch, on the grounds of it being a leaked copy).
They all gave the comment of hoping to see the finished product.
Never did finish the game tho.

Just saw the movie.
I'm.....dissapointed. It wasn't quite as big of a letdown as X3 was, but it's not what I would call a good superhero movie. Jackman was surprisingly unlikeable. All he did was growl and look angry and every scene with his girl were way too kitschy. And that whole story about the moon was very....useless.
They did a few things right though. I was quite satisfied with how they handled Gambit and Blob was okay too. I never heard of that black Teleporter dude before, but I guess he was okay.
The way they handled the Wolverine/Sabretooth relationship was nice, but it kinda screws up X-Men 1.
Okay, here's the spoilery part:
And I have a question for the US user who saw the finished version of the movie, not the bootleg.
So, it's now Ghost Rider, but it ain't X-Men united either. Watch at your own risk.
