Longtime Dakkanaut

Character: Aajz
Location: Team Regent, Sub levels
Situation: Moving down towards Serenity's
Aajz gave a short laugh. "You sound just like Remus" noting Avare's last comment.
Shortly after, she heard one of the Troopers shout something. A small firefight ensued, but what was worrying Aajz was the beeping of the canister, the nerve agent was beginning to seperate in the canister, she would have to manually repair the mechanism within to prevent the gas from escaping. She knew that she was no expert with machine spirits, curse it. If only that Tech Priest were here..
Worst of all, there seemed to be more fighting as the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers all drew their weapons...

((OCC Ah, I just realised I skimped out on the details of who was with Team Regent. I realise that having only Aajz, Avare, Soric and Rally is a bit low. So from here on in consider Team Regent beefed up with three faceless Inquisitorial Stormtroopers; names Mast, Adiel, Baars. Team Fallen remains as is.))
"Light up!" Soric shouted, and the gloom dissipated entirely, the shambling mass of deformity coiling back as the flashlights revealed them. Avare saw the one in front draw a lopsided toothy grin, scratching it's head with a hand that had far, far too many fingers.
Soric muttered something, while Mast swore profusely.
Mutants. Avare hated mutants. Drawing her power sword, its energy field cackling into life, she snarled. "Kill the warp-damn scum! Kill them!"
Team Regent opened up, the hellguns of the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers cutting down three or four of the creatures before they darted off into the darkness. A hiss erupted as Soric took a step forward, changing to a squeal of pain as the ex-captain snapped to the left and charged off another shot.
Rally sounded off from behind, a note of panic in her voice. "Ma'am! There's more back here!" The snap-crack of her pistols followed this. "A lot more!"
Dammit, Avare cursed. They weren't even half a kilometre down yet, and Serenity's could very well be within hearing range of gunshots. What the hell were mutants doing this high up? Surely even a place as decrepit as Hive Augstine had been following the sub-level purging protocols that were intended to prevent this very kind of infestation? A growl, or a laugh, Avare couldn't tell which, was her answer. Throne she wish we had Wilson and his flamer on hand now.
"We can't stay here. Keep moving. Soric and Adiel you're on point, if anything so much as blinks empty a mag into it. Keep up Arbitor."

"Yes Ma-am" Rally Said as she racks up her shot gun with a *Ka-Chunk* and fires a burst into the closest mutant.
She rushes after the group to keep up, then switches to her bolt pistol and Shock maul. (Ooc I only use one pistol at a time, much more accurate and lets me use the maul or shield)
Rally brings down a small one with a maul to the head, "Repent mutant, and flee from the Emperors light."

Subject: Mikal, team Fallen
Location: In cover.
Status: Scanning building fro threats.
As the heavy hitters of Team fallen began enclosing on the position, Mikal took the servitor carrying their equipment into the cover of some rubble across the street. He was no coward but Mikal was a techpriest not a Skitarri warrior, he had an ornate, almost ceremonial in design, plasma pistol holstered at his side and there was always his power axe and servo arm, but they were tools and symbols of office first and methods of defense last. Instead, Mikal used his analyzation prowess to scan the target building from afar, first with the auspex. His hand came to his comm bead as he spoke to Team Fallen.
"All team Fallen units be advised, the auspex is showing at least two humanoid lifeforms inside the building, they are on the floor above the ground and are at the opposite side of the building. Standby..."
Mikal was pleased wit the way the auspex was preforming now, it wasnt perfect but with a few light taps and the right litanies, he had coaxed the machine spirits into cooperating. Mikal peaked out from behind his cover and switched his vision to a setting that would allow him to see through the walls of the building. Inside he saw to forms just where the auspex had approximated.
"Confirm earlier report, two humans are standing at the opposite side of the building, one floor up, their attention appears to be directed out the opposite side windows, if this is the building we plan on taking for our post, then I suggest the team eliminate the two before they notice their missing friend and come to investigate, over."

Character: Slavro
Location: In front of building, 8th street
Situation: Covertly entering
'We don't want any more attention than we already have, besides' Slavro pushed the gangers head over with his foot, 'I don't think anyone down here would be able to even do that'
The gangers head was being held on by thin strands of sinue and shattered bone. The neck was bloodied and crushed under the pressure of Ronans massive. He killed him with such ease and pleasure it put Slavro on edge. He would have to watch him.
Slavro tapped his comm bead and whispered 'Copy that, stay in cover until told otherwise'. The cogboy was more valuable than Slavro thought. Compared to the other tech priests he served with, this one was far more tactically aware. 'Agypus, climb the fire exit in the alley, take them down, keep it quiet. Ronan take Gaz and Furn, secure the lower levels. We don't want any surprises. Myself and Kelly need to secure the surrounding area while Mikal and Wilson sets up the mines.'
A ramp led down from 8th to a huge open gate, leading into the underground car park. The area around the building was strewn with piles of rubble. The main road, 8th street, was a standard 2 lane road. The alley with the fire exit has a large pile of rubble, preventing any vehicles trying to enter it from 8th. The other side of the building is connected to another abandoned 2 story hab dome. Rough, badly done graffitti covered most of the walls.
'Mikal, Wilson. We have 2 choices as our exit, the fire exit in the alley, or the car park below. Your choice. In fact, you would have more expeirence with static defence, so it is all your choice of the mines, aslong as you keep a route for us to get clear.'
((OOC: The lower level of the building is an abandoned car park, the only light is coming in from the gate, and its dark outside so their isnt much light, feel free to bring the might of the Emperor, prob some muties down their that the auspex couldnt pick up

((Good progress Team Fallen, keep it up . Darkvoid, it's been a while since not_u posted, so I'll leave it to you to approach him make contact. Once Team Regent is done fending of muties we'll head there))
"Why would an Arbites patrol be down here?" Avare growled "They gave up on the lower levels long ago."
Contrary to what Rally thought, Avare didn't fully believe that an Arbites presence was a good thing given the nature of their mission. The Arbites had to be here for a reason, and down in this stinking armpit of Hive Augstine it could only be the hostage that they were after. They had to beat them to the Yellow Dog's.
"Trooper Ghast! Are they giving you any trouble?" Avare shouted ahead to Soric and Trooper Adiel, who promptly shot a lizard-like mutant that had darted forward from under a rusty pipe. It squirmed under the hellgun's wound before Soric helpfully put another round in its face.
"Not really." Soric grunted "For the most part they back off the closer we get, it's only the odd one that wants to make something of it."
Avare growled, they couldn't keep this slow pace if they wanted to reach Serenity's in time. She snapped behind her at Aajz, still tinkering with that damned canister, as well as Rally, Mast and Baars. "Keep moving forward, quickly now! These creatures aren't worth our time."

But, forgive my terrible memory, but I've forgotten a fair bit of what's going on and who's going where.
So.. one team is trying to secure a building to serve as a field Op, whilst Avare's group started from higher up to try and get to Serenity's.. which is.. the Yellow Dogs hideout? But there's mutants and Arbites causing problems.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, Team Fallen is securing the building that will act as a sort of HQ/Obseravtion Post, as it's overlooking the Crimson Jackal gang's hideout. They've been disposing of a ganger or two.
Team Regent, with Avare, isn't too far away, trying to burst in on the rival gang the Yellow Dogs, at their hideout/pub/club Serenity's. Mutants are tailing them, and Avare is worried that Arbite interference might become a problem later on.

Well, my character is observing the Yellow Dogs and/or wondering what the hell is going on with the Asssassin at the moment. Whilst my character isn't going to be particularly inclined to speak to the Assassin, I'll make it work if necessary.
Otherwise I could just have him meet with Avare by hearing gun fire or hearing from a nearby person about strange people.. or something. Up to you really.

Character:Aajz
Location: Team Regent, Under hive low levels
Situation: Hurrying to Serenity
It was no use, the canister couldn't be fully repaired and the mutants were closing. However, in this situation, Aajz found a compromise.
Ejecting the small promethium fuelled core, she split the canister into it's two compartments. Leaving one segment with half of the sedatives behind, she quickly reinserted the core back into the remaining half of the canister and hurried to catch up to Avare and the rest of team Regent.
The mutants shambled aimlessly over the malfunctioning half, the contents of which were dangerously spilling out, transforming into the deadly nerve agent. Finally, the canister fully malfunctioned and the gas quickly ventillated out spreading through the street. The mutants writhed in agony as their brains quite literally melted, any lurking mutant or human unfortunate enough to be tailing Team Regent without a respirator was likely to die a terrible death.

(Control of Not_u's character used with EF's permission. Also, edited my previous post to omit sight of the Valkyrie) Character: Khan Blake Location: Sub-levels Situation: Establishing contact with Inquisitorial presence Khan slung his Lasrifle over his back and pulled up his ragged black cloak to conceal it and his sheathed sword. It did not bode well to attract attention to oneself down here - a lesson Khan had learned the hard way two days into this assignment when two gangers had jumped him in an alleyway because of his pristine-condition weapons. Naturally, he'd dispatched them with ease, however he had gone out of his way to remain undetected and unnoticed after that incident. He hurriedly left the building and began searching the area for the.. thing.. that had assumed the form of the ganger known as Donato. As he did so, he called up information learned long ago from the recesses of his mind. Vindicare, Eversor, Culexus, Callidus, Venemum and Vanus - the six "temples" of the Officio Assassinorum. Focusing on these words, he recalled what each one entailed. Soon he settled upon a decision - the being that now went by the name of Donato was without a shadow of a doubt an Assassin, but one of the Callidus temple. Such deadly warriors were trained in the ways of deceit and trickery to accomplish their objectives, usually assisted by the shape-changing Polymorphine drug. They preferred to get up-close to their targets and slay them with a mêlée weapon. He suspected that the Assassin would be heading for the Yellow Dogs hideout to conduct reconnaissance and search for him and the manservant. Khan knew that there was no point, so he had to find it before it entered gang territory. Well, virtually every part of the sub-levels of this forsaken Hive was divided up into gang territory, but much of it wasn't usually frequented by gangers due to its relative worthlessness, asides from the odd patrol or public display of might. Khan found himself in the local marketplace - if it could be called that. It was an open black market - you could buy everything from weapons to slaves here. Then, purely by chance, he saw the emblazoned duster typical of a Yellow Dogs ganger ahead in the bustling crowd. He also recognized the red bandanna as having belonged to the late Donato. He hastily pushed his way through the bustling crowd until he reached the Assassin. He placed a hand on its shoulder, causing it to turn around, hinting at unimaginable power and speed barely concealed, fixing Khan with an ice-cold gaze. "Callidus," Khan stated. "You are the informant?" The Assassin asked. "Yes. We should go somewhere more private. Follow me." Khan turned and lead the Assassin through the crowd, people making way for the erstwhile Yellow Dogs ganger, not wanting to hold up a member of one of the most feared gangs in the area. After a brisk ten-minute walk, the two Inquisitorial agents were standing in the middle of an abandoned hab-block. Khan led the Assassin into a nearby building and into a secluded room at the end of a hallway - the place he had been living during his time undercover in the Hive. "Do you have a name?" He asked the Assassin. "You may call me Zeta." "Very well then. Tell me, Zeta, is Inquisitor Remus here?" "Not in person. Interrogator Avare is leading a retinue to find you and secure the manservant." "She will suffice. I have information on the manservant that I must give her. Where is she?" "I do not know exactly. However she and her retinue were making their way to the Yellow Dogs' hideout from the upper levels." "We need to intercept them before they get there. Shouldn't be too difficult, however there is an abundance of mutants in some of the areas they are passing through, which may slow down our and their progression, as well as endangering them. While I'm sure mutants are no threat to you, I suggest you maintain your disguise as it may be of use later, should Avare deem it necessary to have someone infiltrate the Yellow Dogs. It will also make travel there easier." "We should go." Khan paused, "I agree, but there are a few things I must collect before we leave." Having said that, he opened a drawer and pulled out a few personal effects, including a prayer book. But most important of all was an image of the manservant, acquired using a hidden pict-recorder Khan had kept about himself during his time with the manservant. He placed these things in a small bag that lay nearby and he held onto it carefully, not wishing to lose the precious contents. "I'm ready, lets go," He informed the Assassin. With that, the two infiltrators departed the abandoned hab-block and it was as if they had never been there.

Plummeting Black Templar Thunderhawk Pilot
|
Character:Brother Ronan
Location: On the Ramp to the underground car Park
Status: About to descend into the car Park
EDIT: THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED
Ronan nodded to Slavro in agreement, he gritted his teeth at having to obey the command of a non-arstartes but he kept reminding himself of his task. The man had already shown himself to be a knowledgable soldier, not one of these "gun-hoe" types that he had imagined all Imperial Soldiers to be, and if he was wrong about that then maybe this could indeed workout.
He forced himself back to the task at hand, idle thoughts could wait until after the area was secure. "Furn! ... Gaz! ... Your with me" he said sharply and turned quickly and exited through the door and onto the street, Furn and Gaz en-toe behind him. They crouch-ran along the side of the building until they reached the ramp that descended under the building and into the underground carpark. Ronan gave a hand signal to Furn and Gaz, indicating to proceed with caution.
They reached the main gate of the underground carpark, wide enough for two cars to go through side by side and a small security door next to the main gate that Furn had already positioned herself against. Gaz had kept close behind Ronan, weapon in hand as he peered into the darkness over the huge form of the Astartes.
"Should i knock first?" he heard Furn ask. He grinned to himself and peered into the darkness through the gate. There was virtually no light here other than what shined through the large gates, but his enhanced Astartes eyes easily picked out the shapes of abandoned vehicles, wreckage and rubble, he heard some poeple talking deep within the carpark ... he could make out the silhouette of four gangers with their backs to them as they crowded round a small heater
He looked up to Furn with a smile "Yes ... lets say hello to our neighbours" As he spoke the word he stabbed a stick into his thigh, the tell tale sign of as flare sparked from the end of the stick as Ronan then flung the flare into the darkness, followed a second later by another flare thrown by Gaz that eluminated the other side of the underground carpark
((OOC, I'm leaving my bit there for now, I could happily write more but I'm sure Gaz and Furn would like to write their own pieces for this scene rather than have me dictate it for them.))

Situation: Closing in on Serenity
Avare spun around to see Aajz sprinting past Rally, the Arbitor only managing a confused look before firing another shot off into a pursuing mutant.
"Sister Lucia! What the hell is it?" Avare snapped at the Hospitallier.
"Nerve. Toxin. Run!" Aajz responded as she leapt past Avare.
Avare could see it now, the gasses bursting from a small canister Aajz had dropped. Already the mutants closest to it were writhing on the ground, twitching in thier death-throes or semi-conciousness, while the ones that hadn't yet been caught in the lethal cloud had begun to stumble. Rally had already turned to run after the Sister.
"Bloody Throne." Avare whispered, before sprinting after the others, the cloud still spreading rapidly. Well, that'd had certainly taken care of any mutants behind them. But they'd have to find another way out of this cesspit for certain. And they still didn't have the damn manservant. Clicking on her comm-link, Avare tried to contact Zeta, hoping he'd made better progress than them.
"Zeta! Have you contacted the informant yet? Is the manservant with the Yellow Dogs? We're only a few hundred metres from Serentity's, we need information!"

Returning to his work with an angry mutter, he strung the tripwire across the top of the rubble pile, the Iron Dagger facing outwards so anyone trying to scale the debris would be hit with three explosive charges, and a lot of fast moving rubble fragments. He crawled slowly backwards down the rubble to where the Tech priest waited with the rest of the ordinance, Wilson loved Iron Daggers, with two types of detection for its tiny machine spirt, that of proximity or a good-old trip wire, it was useful in every defensive situation. "This is demolitions, Bravo Is hot, fallback route is through the Alley, rubble is hot, do not cross. Moving to building rear to place Alpha." He turned to Mikal and whispered to him with a grin hidden by his respirator, "those three charges will cover our escape if we need it to, lets get the others from this batch set up in the carport, then the rest on the flank and building front. I'll lead, you cover, ok?"

Okay, but you seem to have forgotten that Team Fallen is trying to be stealthy. Emptying a grenade launcher into a room is the exact opposite of a silent entry.

And you don't think that the sound of loud music, explosions and gunfire from across the street won't tip the target off that someone's there?

(Always one oddball for every retinue I suppose , though in the future, dragon, I think it would be best if you would reserve such idiosyncrasies for yourself...)

(Sure, I guess I can cover you, but seeing as I'm the cogboy and your the guardsman, it might be more sensical for our jobs to be swapped, or perhaps someone else cover both of us while we both work?)
