Seconded that question!
And admitting thats mostly because the foil wrapping is a pain in the proverbial hiney to work with, let alone paint... My friggin paint don't stick! My primer don't stick! Even my glue don't stick. I'm halfway through a semi-decent canvas roofing... but if i can use something other than the foil for it, I will... So using the foil only for a simple sign or post sounds okay in my book too...
I decided today that the hide-out will be a hunter's hide-out. So now i'm frantically painting zombie bits (heads, hanging torso, hands, to decorate further. After that its paper scraps, soda cans, highlighting on the cassette-deck, anything else i can come up with, fiddle my toe, walk my dogs, and then... sigh... its back to canvas roofing...

IF you reach a point where working with the foil gets too much a pain in the rear as you put it ... then a small amount is sufficient... soon i want to test the material a bit myself... maybe a coat of PVA or something might help?
a sign sounds good... and in the rules it was stated anyway that a significant measure of the material is enough.... make from this information what you deem necessary...
the only thing you have to take in mind is the fairness to each other for this comp.... if you think a small sign is still fair then i am game... was that helpful enough? i am no guy that wants to exclude someone so i think i want to see your craft in full swing... if it gets too much of a hustle then we find a solution together... after all we do it for the fun of it, non?

Cool Vik! Mind you, I still want to use the actual foil stuff, if I can find a primer that sticks... Point is, i have a printed piece left... if it were clear i'd use it as is i guess, like clear plastic... weather that up... But having a roof that says 'oeken'...

Unless its off a truck's trailer canvas...
