I just noticed while reading the Deathwing Command box description on the GW website that you actually get a transfer sheet with the box. I checked the ravenwing box and it also has a transfer sheet with it. Is this new, I haven't bought minis in a while and I am surprised by this.

Anyone else notice that the $19.75 DA Chapter Upgrade frame gives you the same exact pieces as the $33 veterans box?

It's been like that for ages, the veteran box is the chapter upgrade sprue combined with the tac squad upgrade sprue with the missile launcher and special weapons and stuff on it.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

And 5 bases which is kinda important I guess.

Its got a number on it.

Silly really, but obviously people enjoy this type of stuff or it woudn't sell so quickly. Its the Rise Above style "Die Hard" version for GW people, where half of them end up on ebay at inflated prices.

I think I'm fine really with the only 1 TH+SS and LC in a box because with the new splitfire rules our termies are getting, I think they will become much more shooting centric and leave the combat to the knights. Leaving the need for only maybe one storm shield in the unit to take look out sirs for the squad leader at the front.

Anyways, if you really want those hammers and claws then use your old models (unless you're a bandwagon jumper, and you can't).

And yet it's already sold out in some regions. These things may seem silly to many people (me included), but others really go for them, and GW is smart to play to as many markets as possible.

We have now sold out of the Limited Edition Codex: Dark Angels in Europe. If you live in the USA and Australia we still have a few left so you'll need to act fast to guarantee your copy. These are only available via the Games Workshop website.

.. *shrugs* strokes for folks I guess.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

So you're saying only people that have suffered a stroke have purchased all the LE Codexes....

Make sense to me!

Well it cannot be ridiculous as they have sold out in Europe.

It can still be ridiculous but if the market bears it (and it has now two codexes in a row) then what the hell.

Hard to argue with GW's pricing model when people continue to shell out the cash. Though im sure someone will mention that selling out isn't a big deal without actual sales data, could just be that GW only printed a very small number of them

Regardless GW can continue inching prices higher and higher as it seems the market is yet to sour on the pricing model

I'm completely fine with deluxe versions of books that satisfy a passionate but small segment of the fanbase as long as the more utiliarian soft cover b&w $30 version that won't crush my minis and that I can lend to friends like Cheetoh the Hutt exists for me to buy... what?... oh crap...

Thats a good idea, GW is free shipping over 50, I should buy it and sling it up on ebay and make an extra 30 for more miniatures

I wonder how much shipping GW actually pays, it's very difficult to not spend over $50 there even for the most basic order.

At Direct GW prices, the expanded profit margin compared to wholesale prices easily covers shipping for orders over $50. They make a profit at wholesale prices, so direct prices, even with shipping taken out, is just gravy.

It's likely a partially to encourage multi buys when getting small stuff (might as well multiple gaunts or another kit to go with that tact squad). A number of kits also didn't hit the magic over $50 number until a year or two back, and it's likely amazon free shipping plays a part. If they thought they could get away with charging shipping, they would.

Considering they've various contracts with couriers such as UPS over here, very little in the long run I would say! You don't get t be a business as sustainable and long-running as they are if you aren't savvy about expenses.

looks like i wont be adding to my ravenwing although might get a flier, but that stupid gothic thing i dont like, As for my Deathwing i will be getting 3 boxes and some characters.
Whilst i still prefer metal over finecast, I have to say in my opinion finecast is slowly improving i have just finished my Necrons and Ogre Kingdoms which contain a fair number of Finecast products and only had issue with one model, whereas when fincast first came out all of them were problematical. Now I can but with more confidence.
Whilst i rarely play games with either my ravenwing or Deathwing k i love painting them and have all the models from when they first started doing Deathwing specific models, so it will be nice to add some more. More for display than anything else.
