This is the deal. My new way of putting together armies actually requires me to get rid of my bitz. I have way too many and I always end up customizing everything beyond where I will be able to paint them due to time.

I have 4 pounds of bitz (yes I weighted them) from space marines to imp guard to orks.

Should I just take a picture of them all layed out on throw them on ebay? Or is it not worth the time. Cause I would have to pick out a lot of the garbage that gets mixed in thats why I ask.

So what do you think? Ebay or shelve?

Shelve them. Despite the Bitz sites out there, 90%, if not more of Bitz are largely worthless. And the most prized odds and ends tend to be those most critical to the building of the original model.

But never chuck them! Keep hold of them, and offer them up as swapsies when you find yourself in need of a bit.

Check the Warstore/Battle Wagon Bits and see if you have anything they want for their Bitz trade-in. I did it before and managed ~$100 in credit.

Also, the longer you hold on to them, arguably the more valuable they get.

Things like the old Chaos Heavy Weapon sprue probably fetches a pretty penny these days.

I ended up selling mine on ebay... it was like 5 lbs maybe a little more. Sold off all but one army (back to three) got a couple hundred for them, I did have full tanks etc in the bits as well so that helped.

Do tanks count-as bits?

I'm always happy to scour a bits collection for things I can use. Krak grenades for example - big thing right now.

The land of cotton.

No, they're worthless. I'll do you a favor and let you send them to me for disposal.

Seriously, hang on to them. I don't put them into a big box though, I have a bunch of Plano boxes left over from previous ventures and try to store them to prevent damage.

I suggest separating them by army and selling them as lots. You really CAn get a decent penny for them.

I see it often over on bartertown.com and on feebay.

Heck, bartertown's got a section JUST for bits!

Bitz have value for those looking for those specific bitz.

But bitz need matchmaking. eBay isn't a bad way to do this, although the costs that eBay takes are pretty high.

Some bits are worth more than others. A handful of beaky space marine helmets is worth a few quid, as you currently only get one on each sprue.

I disagree, I've found great use from even the most mangled and seeming-useless of pieces. A broken pair of artillery crewman legs? One-legged militiaman. Chimera rear door, some flamer tanks and four round bases? Cyclops. All it takes is a bit of time and a lot of storage space in the meanwhile.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Agree with the "keep the bitz" crowd. If you're feeling generous, you can also periodically bring your bitz collection to your gaming group and let them pick through them.
