Hello,
New to Dakka dakka and thought I would start by posting a new project I am working on, my Black Crag Bone Crusha's.

This is an Orc Blood Bowl team I am building for a league we are starting soon, here is what i got.

Hairtoof Facebeata - Black Orc Blocker
Snippit 'Eavyfist - Black Orc Blocker
Nasha One Eye - Black Orc Blocker
Krunk - Black Orc Blocker
Borgut Gasha - Blitzer
Morgut Gasha - Blitzer
Snarl Leftyfeet - Blitzer
Remy Brokenear - Blitzer
Woger Staunchback - Thrower
Meatza - Troll
Gobblesnot - Goblin

Here are the beginnings. I am trying to use bits and models I have stored around to make this team so after digging through my bitz closet I find this.

What you see are the AoBR sprues, a few bits/models from BfSP, and some night goblin stuff (not sure where i'm gonna use this yet).

So, after digging through everything, I come up with a preliminary "cut and paste" of what the models are going to look like. Here is the team from left to right, 4 BO Blockers, 4 Blitzers, Troll, Thrower, goblin (just a placeholder for now), and finally a cheer leader.

This is where I am now. I have cut, scrapped, molded, and what have you to create my Black Orcs from the Orc Nobs on the AoBR sprues, the thrower is a heavy weapon boy from AoBR, and the troll is from BfSP. Here they are ready to be primed.

Hairtoof Facebeata

Snippit "Eavyfist

Nasha One Eye

Krunk

Woger Staunchback

Meatza (he's not ready to be primed yet, eventually he will be holding a goblin ready to be thrown)

Next update should have some WiP painted Black Orcs and maybe the Blitzers together.

Comments welcome!

Good work with the converting. Can't wait to see the Troll finished. Woger Staunchback's pose seems a bit wierd though.

Using the AoBR nobs is a good idea, they look like Orc footballers alright!

Also, welcome to DakkaDakka

yeah,
looks really good so far.
great Gs conversions.

I love seeing bloodbowl on dakka!

the only thing I don't like is when throwers are holding a 'spare' ball... but that's just something i've never liked. I always remove it!

what's the mini at the bottom right?

Panic,
What do you mean spare ball? just that he's got a ball that's not in play? If that's what you mean, I kind of understand. I was going to make a second Thrower that didn't have a ball. for that same reason.

The model is the tied up Slayer from BfSP. I was going to use him as a cheerleader. I just imagine him on the sidelines yelling, cussing, and screaming at the Orcs. and figured that would be a good cheering section.

I'd like to see a bit more in the way of American Football references in classic Blood Bowl style, otherwise teams just look like mordheim gangs without weapons.

Great start though and I agree, its nice to see someone else doing blood bowl around here!

Cheers,

Very cool idea! They look great! I was actually looking into playing Blood Bowl again. With that said...

As I have WAY too many AoBR sprues/orks/nobz laying around and the basic sensibilities (at least with modeling) as the average Death Skull, I'll be akwirin' dis 'ere idea for me own Blood Bowl team.

I was going to try and paint them to resemble one of the American Pro Football teams. I am a Ravens fan but I'm not sure I'm going to go with their colors or not. and It was your Blood Bowl Log that really inspired me to make a new Blood Bowl team and post a log. I think your Zug looks amazing.

To everyone else, Thanks for the comments. I'll have more pics in a day or so. I'm painting the Black Orcs and the Thrower.

If you're doing a team of orcs and using real life football teams as inspiration, I don't see how you can't do the Orcland Raiders.

Yeah, but the classic Blood Bowl team of the Orkland Raiders always had the Steelers colors? Weird.

UPDATE:
I've ran out of Green Stuff so instead of working on the Blitzers and getting the way I want, I decided to paint the Black Orcs and the Thrower.

So last night I finished their skin and I don't think the pics give them justice, but oh well i guess. I don't want to set up studio for WiP pics, I'm lazy.

I've never been a fan of the "Goblin Green" Orcs. Or even a fan of brightly colored green orcs either. So here are mine, I've painted nearly every Orc I've Ever owned (and it's been alot) these colors or very similar. So here they are;

I use Citadel paints, Catachan Green Base then mixes of Rotten Flesh until I get the desired blending colors.
