Im just wondering if this is a local phenomena or if Im experiencing the same thing others have.

I have three orders out for meltaguns for my Mech Vets. All three are delayed, out of stock. GW has had my money for over a month now and still no damn meltaguns. War Store and Bitz Box are out of stock and Im not going to pay shipping for a bunch of $15.00 forge world meltagunners. As of last week I was told again it will be here "any day" and now im out of time.

I managed to get one blister of metal meltaguns, and three platoon boxes which brings me up to 8 melta, 3 plasma, and 3 heavy flamers. Fine for 1850 but not for 2500. And of course all my practicing has been with my Vets, not My Salamanders.

It has completely screwed me as I now cant bring my Mech Vets to Ard Boyz since I have been proxying my Meltaguns now for two months. I have to either spend 250.00 on 10 platoon kits just to get the 10 meltagun bits, totally redesign my army ( even more money in last minute building and assembly only to play and army I have not practiced in. ) Or Run my Salamanders at a points level I have not played them at.

Its very frustrating and I wonder if anyone else has run into problems with getting meltaguns on order or if Im just a fool for counting on GW to get me a product (that I have already paid for!) in under 30 days.

Have you thought about stripping your sallies for meltas? do you have any extra multi-melta bits laying around that you could convert to melta's w/the cadian flamer? Those are the easiest and fastest ways to do it that i'm aware of

Use GS to attach them, instead of glue. Sure, it'll be a pain breaking them off every time you switch army, but it's cheaper (ish) and easier (ish)

Hearing this, I'm now glad that I ordered a bunch of the metal blisters from GW a few months ago.

I had the foresight to buy ahead. I got a big stack of about 20 plasma and melta guns about a fortnight ago. I only actually need about 4 for the foreseeable future, but it's nice to have them around in case I feel like knocking up a few more.

I blame the GFC. And Jervis.

Boo! I just ordered a pack of 5 melta guns and sly marbo like 2 days ago :( I guess this means I'll be waiting a while..

I'm a sad panda as well. I can't play my Mech vets either cause of no melta guns. Managing to borrow some from a friend to ally two squads into Witch Hunters but the melta shortage is ridiculous.

I've had a bunch of the 5 melta guns packs on order with GW for a few weeks too. They don't know when the restock will be :(.

You can pay 15.00 for the Melta + Plasma blister or is that sold out too? I just don't want to spend over 100 just for melta guns.

I think ebay had some for 3 bucks a pop but not enough and price is kinda high.

I have an order in at the GW website for some melta guns. Supposedly they're going to be in stock on July 10th and should ship that day.

Its too late now for the Ebay route for me, I do like the idea of snipping off the Multi Melta tip and modding flamers. I dont have that many extra flamers or MMs though. Maybe another 7 plastic Multi Melta Tips but I dont think I have 7 spare flamers.

Gahh, totally fraks me off!!! When I bought my IG army I was buying it for the Big Waagh before I knew Ard Boyz was comming, with only 6 weeks notice its seems just not enought time to get everything ordered in time.

Oh well, so much for all those Ard Boyz Practice games with Mech IG :-(

Ya I ordered like 3 blisters last month and never got them just stayed out of stock. I managed to get quite a few through trading. Still wish I had like 5 more but I'll live. I have enough to put on the field squad usually my squads are never out of the Chimeras or die too fast to care so being short a melta or 2 is no big deal.

I bought all the MM and melta bitz I needed 8 months ago. Bow before my powers of foresight.

If I were you I would try showing up to 'ard boys with the proxied melta guns, and if anyone gives you crap, show them the order confirmation or whatever, with the date highlighted to show that you ordered them ages ago and GW just sucks at life. Probably wont work, but its worth a try.

Stick a flamer tank behind a grenade launcher barrel, and say it's your Guardsmens special home brand of meltagun.

Remember, it doesn't need to be the GW ones, the counts as rule is good in this case, as long as it's something suitably unique, stands out, and you say beforehand, 'that's a meltagun, m'kay?'

For qualifiers can't you just GS a bunch of them? Couple that with the order confirmation and that should be enough to pass muster at a FLGS.

Would it be advantageous to you at all to contact one of your brothers to the North and get them to ship you down some?

The last melta gun order I placed (3 weeks ago) arrived in about 7 business days.

If I didn't need to order more for myself, I'd offer you the 5 pack sitting on my desk.

Quickly convert some up. Either bolters, flamers or grenade launchers as a base, and the COD Manufactorum for the nozzles. One COD Manufactorum has 6 exhausts on the building frame which nicely translates into six melta muzzles. Still sucks that GW can't foresee an increase in meltagun orders, but at least you'll be able to play.

Use the tips of the little mini-tower things from the Manufactorum, cut a melta bomb in half and mod a Bolter. Insta-melta(s)! I've done all sorts of stupid tricks to get more, including having ordered two of those packs a couple months ago. I've even taken all the combi-meltas bits from my chaos Termis and Obliterators to make them. Fortunately it was just enough.

i just found 2 melta guns in my bitz box, anyone have a kindey for trade?

seriously though when i started remaking my deathguard i forsaw myself needing 18 melta guns for the army, i grabbed them before i bought anything else, this was a month before the guard codex dropped, and im glad i got them then, trying to find 18 meltas in one place now is impossible.

The Manufactorum/Flamer trick is pretty good, could work just as well with GL's I think. Between the two I might just have enough,,,

It took over a month for my 5 meltas to arrive.

It's the same phenomena that occurred with assault cannons after the release of the 4th ed. SM codex.

The takeaway here is, as with stocks, it's good to buy bitz low and sell high.

You're welcome. I enjoyed reading your preps for 'ard boyz, so it's the least I can do. . best part is, you can still assemble the manufactorum and use it in games, so the money is not wasted.

And this, folks, is why I create subpar non-competitive lists with crappy equipment.

LOL, Selling the leftover bits on Ebay might not be a bad idea but thats a crap load of money to drop up front :-)

I had to scramble to get 8 meltaguns for my bikers for ard boyz. I think I got like the last 2 overpriced ones the warstore had and I managed to snag 6 on ebay for $15 w/shipping due to me spendign way too much time on the internet constantly checking things.
