Sadly not even half of it , and the smaller boxes are full of bits that were cut from sprues to save space. It will be one long cleaning fest/organizing party.

Yeah, Netflix has all 4 seasons of Heroes, it got that far but the weird crept in, and yes, Hayden did brighten it up a bit as she is a lovely bit of eyecandy

The apo is a bit overdone in my opinion, but the chappy looks amazing...

The legs look stunning, I like the heavy clad and riveted look FW used for some marines...(note: I am not really that fluent with the different armor types of marines through the ages.. )
And the scythe icon is a heaven sent!

Well, first things first I had to do grocery shopping. I did get more glue though, so sort of a nice trip.

checking in real quick, then schoolwork. This weekend is booked solid with church and church renovations. The tail end of next week is off to NY. I need to research some sites to go to while there. Id love to go to Thewarstore.com store that they opened up, just to see mind you, or if anyone has a shout out for a NY Gaming store let me know......GW need not apply as they no longer have games in store from what I read . Makes sense as they are a HHHobby store. Looke dfor Daves mythical, magical paint storage shelves at Walmart. Ours doesn't have them .Who wants to be organized anyway.

I have mine in a container that I have had for the last 15 years or so. I am getting quite inclined to just build one out of legos though XD and Theo church sounds like a full time duty. But it is good to see that you are active in you're community.

Got the test and quiz done quick, so rewarded myself with some painting time.

Just started sternguard, who are back from the deathwatch.

They do look like footballplayers...

Not sure how you mean that Vik, is their a football(American or soccer for the Europeans) that are called sternguard? In 40K they are the Vetrans, and the few surviving Scythes (about 120), could all be considered that, but its the really skilled ones that get the cool guns and ammo. After being devoured by the Nids, the one remaining Captain reorganized the remaining brothers, so there are no company markings anymore. He also sent 40 marines to train the deathwatch in anti tyranid fighting, as the chapter continues its fight against the beast, even boarding the enemy vessels to rescue survivors. These guys are on temporary leave from the deathwatch, yet keep their shoulderguards and left arms painted silver to distinguish them from their brothers. they also have extra equipment not normally given out, hence the guy with twin powerfists.

Well doing a bit of painting, got schoolwork mostly done.
I've never been a fan of the whirlwind look, I much prefer these.

They are the forgeworld version, given a different name, but if I field a whirlwind, it will have this as a top.
And since I had the predator body half completed, I thought I'd take the turret off to show the look.


I'm really enjoying the scythes color scheme, even on the tanks.

Inventive! especially at GW costs for the actual models of that anti-air vehicle and such. Riptide may see a modified Gundam for the cost of 85bucks a riptide if I get my Tau back up and running.

@shaso, it was a call from one of my daughters teachers. She has ADHD, and likes to hide assignments from us, she's supposed to have been working on this assignment for weeks in class, but has not been doing that. Her teacher, who hasn't been following the federally mandated 504 plan that's in place for my daughter didn't see she hasn't worked on this assignment in class until the day it was due. My daughter was supposed to bring it home last night to work on it, but didn't want to get in trouble, so she left it at school along with the teacher note. The teacher blames my daughter for missing class a lot because the school does a strings (Cello) class in the middle of her time, but she's not following up with the progress of the students, especially ones with learning disabilities.
@Farseerandyman, Thanks for stopping in. The Barrels just happened that way, they are mounted on the larger round bit which is just friction held inside the square piece. I could line them up to match each other but I like how they look being asymmetrical.

No progress since last post as the kids are home now and I've seen the project my daughter has to work n. It's going to be a long night. I also have to draft up a letter to her teacher, principle and counselor to discuss what has not been going correctly with the 504 plan.

the whirlwind rocket launcher upgrade looks very good...but i have to ask...the GW ones... are they smaller? or where is the difference?
the AA guns look very cool...also...i like the fact that you have spinning barrels that don´t get shown in the exact same position... i dunno if i had the guts to do that...but since they are spinning and a model is kinda a pic, a still in time it makes so much sense!

and now to your daughter... is that teach willingly not following the order or just plain dumb?... and is it real ADHD? or one of the cases where the docs went the easy way and prescribed meds ? this gets done way too often...at least here...
the stunt of her letting the note and the work stay nice and warm at school... i played that trick, my wife, my son too... it is a stund probably we all did... it never really worked...but we all did it that way...eh?...
i only ever scold my kids for when they get caught for doing tricks too dumb thought out... doing tricks on your teachers or the kids they/them dont like is not something scold-worthy in my book...i just want them to be clever about it...!

@Vik, Yep she's ADHD all the way. Reminds me a lot of myself when I was young. She is extremely smart, and finishes her homework and schoolwork right away and has all A's, it's just getting her on track that is the problem. She will take 10-15 minutes to get all her supplies read at her desk in the morning and I think the teacher is just too innept to handle her. I don't think it's willfully trying to ignore the plan, just they didn't do their due diligence at the beginning of the year so now it's oh time and she is trying to catch up.
@Dave, Thanks, I imagine theres probably two rows of shells in the barrel to feed the flak guns. they will get rivets on the bands as well.
@Dr. H, Yep, I like me some drum magazines. It also ties it in with the dread who has drums on his twin autocannon.

I've contemplated getting a contemptor dreadnought because they've grown on me, but the Scythes are supposed to be a relatively new chapter, so I've not even been painting the battle company of my Mark IV suits that I love. I guess they will have to become a different chapter.... I really am torn on what chapter to build after these guys though. Lord knows I have enough figs to do it. I've done a plain color scheme before (Theophony), now this paint scheme, I've tried the quartered color scheme but didn't like the way the colors worked so I might retry that. I also have done iron warriors for chaos so i've done metallic. With Mark IV armor it should be one of the first chapters. I'm leaning towards Salamanders, but if anyone wants to chime in i'm all for taking suggestions. This of course wont start until I get lots more done with the scythes.

So Far the letter to the principle is 2 pages long. Single spaced. I'm not done with it yet, theres plenty more to write, but needed a break as my blood pressure was through the roof.

All respect to you Theo, life is hard enough without your kids teachers fething up...

That explains it. Teacher not doing their job for dealing with the kids with special needs and only working with the "normal" kids.

I have to give teachers a lot of praise for what they do. My wife is a high school teacher, and Varsity Cheer Coach, and has her administrators degree (which she fills in for principles all the time). This year has been the hardest for her in all her years of teaching because she's teaching 4 different English course(levels). So she has to plan each course differently. The beginning of the year was horrible with her having over 100 essays to grade in the first week alone on top of everything else.

There are soooooo many kids out there with problems and parents that don't take the time with them. I wish I had the motivation to take more time, but I can only really spend an hour or so each weekday with each of my three kids between homework, making dinner, showers there just isn't the time to do much else. Next week I pick up two more classes of my own , and neither of them is helpful for my degree.

Something has to give soon, unfortunately it will probably be modeling time. That and I am still looking for a job and the unemployment benefits are about to run out. Oh well. There's my vent. Sorry to unload, just lot of stuff hit at once and it feels good just typing out my frustrations.
