Hi guys,
Just got back from Games Day and spent some time with Mr. Johnson. That's Mr. Jervis Johnson for those that don't know. LOL
Anyway, let me go over a few things that I heard him tell me with my own two ears. A bit of Q and A if you will.
1. Is there a new race coming out anytime in the near future for 40K or Warhammer?
JJ - " No, we have no plans to do any new race or army. We have plenty on our schedule for the next 2 years to keep us busy."
2. Is Space Hulk or something like it coming out this year or anytime soon?
JJ - " No, we have no plans for that as of now"
3. Are you guys making a Warhound Titan in plastic in the near future?
JJ - " LOL, LOL, LOL, ........ pause, LOL,LOL, lets just say people will be very happy with our larger models in the near future.
4. Is that the reason you are selling the weapon arms for Forgeworld Warhounds so you can clean up inventory for arms that you looted the miscast bodies for replacement parts?
JJ - " Who are you, LOL do you work for Forgeworld?, LOL
5. How many new models are coming out for Space Wolves when they release later this year?
JJ - " Sorry, but I can't go into any details. You'll just have to wait and see."
So there you have it guys. I spend several privet minutes with J.J. and I don't see any reason for him to lie to me directly. I would say take this with a grain of salt, but this would be the guy to believe.
Now, just a bit about the overall event.
First, the hall was packed with models and fun events. The staff was totally friendly and helpful as always. I was very impressed by the Forgeworld stock and price drop. They had every item I came with on my list and I waited almost 2 hours in line since I got there late. They discounted every model due to the exchange and they offered free shipping as always on items that needed pre ordering. Very cool.
The VRAKS III book was there on display for everyone to look over. The Nurgle Blight Dones are amazing. They are basicly speeders for Nurgle that when destroyed they explode and drop a toxic sluge on any model around it wounding it. So crazy and so nurgle. I bought 3.
I also got a really exciting bit of info on the next IA book coming out after VRAKS III. Orks will get the bulk of the next book and will have a boat load of new models available.
7 Different guns will come out for the Current plastic battlewagon. They will be add on kits and they looked amazing from the consept art. They had one of the new guns called the SUPA-CANNON on display and it looked amazing.
They also had info that was confirmed by an employ about the new version larger all resin battlewagon. It will be a larger model kinda like the original FW battlewagon but it looks like the Bat Mobile. The new bad ass Bat Mobil from the movie but ORKED out. The thing is freakin sick. The orky goodness starts just after November and keeps on going into the new year.
Lastly, the new models meeting, slide show, and Q-A sucked. They showed nothing new and JJ and the boys answered all the questions very politicly. It was only after that I talked to him alone that a bit of info came out.
Overall the show was a blast and worth my $27.00.
Hope that helps.
Romeo

So space hulk is "the highlight of the year"......
This could save me the time to go there.
But bigger kits sounds interesting. A warhound may come when the Warlord is on FW shelves.

Since the other thread was closed I'll post this here (since it's a related topic).
An employee of GW, who isn't a red shirted one btw, told me today that he has already seen the actual product which is going to be in the secret box.
He did not tell anyone else, including his fellow GW workers, what the actual product will be because he does not want to lose his job, but he did give me the following information:
- It is NOT Space Hulk.
- It is made in China (he saw it in the Shanghai factory when he was there for work recently).
- It is something GW has done before, but nowhere near this good. This obviously means the previous claim that this will be something they have never done before is not true. Smells a bit like Space Hulk to me, despite their claims otherwise.
- There will be 30 miniatures in it (which smells a bit like Space Hulk numbers as well if you ask me).
- It will cost approximately 90,- Euro. Have we seen a price mentioned anywhere before?
- It can be used with existing GW product/miniatures as well as on it's own.
Of course I'm perfectly aware there is no guarantee this information is actually correct, so take all of this for what it's worth. I have been reading here for quite a while before I signed up, so I know the way a lot of people here think about a rumour like this, the credibility of similar rumours, and my own philosophy is "I'll believe it when it is actually confirmed by GW". However, I have no reason at all to believe this person was not telling me the truth, I don't know.

There were thirty, and maybe now they'll have more than just a few flamers/missile launchers...

Yes it was a Dutch employee.
Assuming the information is correct, at least we can take a (little more educated) guess at what it could be: 90,- Euro for 30 miniatures (+ maybe/probably something else?) + an upgraded version of something they have done before + usable with current product.
Considering all of that I can't think of anything except Space Hulk. All of it adds up.
Maybe their policy is to flat out deny it in an attempt to keep it a secret? That wouldn't surprise me one bit.
