I have been hearing only 1, but those posts were 1+ years ago. So is it still true that you only get one sonic blaster per pack? If so, what moron designed that. It seems like what most everyone would give their models, so why would their only be one?

1 Sonic Blaster, 1 Blastmaster, and 1 Doom Siren.

If you want more, you have to buy a pack of them from the online store. It's a very stupid thing for GW to do and I hope that plastic Blasters/Blastmasters will be in the re-packaged EC, assuming we ever get a CSM wave 2.

Yes it sucks a lot. I recommend just converting some of the bolters with chaos bits to represent Sonic Blasters. I stole the idea of clipping of the ends of the bolter and using the small dragon/demon head bits that come with the Chaos vehicles. It's not great but it's pretty easy to do.

The Emperor's Children box comes with one of each. The blister has 4 Sonic Blasters and 1 Blastmaster (or 5 and 1... now 100%).

Why would they give CSM a wave two? They need to give IG and SM waves 3, 4, 5, and 6...

I think GW is thinking that the 5 man "Attack Squad", the Possessed and the Termie Lord "count as" our wave one.

Just buy the blister if you dont wanna convert.

One Blister, one Five man CSM Attack Squad and the Slaanesh Lord with Doom Siren.

Thanks for the help. Truly, it sounds like a bigger effort than its work, so in the end I think I might just go death guard.

Before you head off down the road most travelled, what exactly did you want to do with the Emperor's Children models?

If it was just get together a few Noise Marine Squads, then that's easy. As I said, a few blisters of Sonic Weapons and you're done - two friends of mine have done that in their Chaos armies, just buying some regular CSM boxes and combining them with the Sonic Weapons.

If you wanted everything from the EC box, including the special heads and, backpacks and so on, then ok, that's going to be pricey.

So what do you want to do with this army?

Good questions. All I really wanted was a really shooty army, that could still hold its own in close combat. Before this I have only really done cc, and I would really like trying to see how it would play out in fire-fights. Your advice is really good, thanks, but how do I then make a doom siren? That doesn't come in the pack does it? So could I just buy a pack of noise marines, a pack of regular csm, and a sonic weapons kit, and just have squads of 18? Maybe thats my best bet. I am also just toying around with ideas, because I am going to have alot of money soon. None of the stuff I am saying is final, just an idea or thought that I would like to get some response to to help influence my decision. Thanks for the answer though.

Doom Siren's you could make yourself. Every Chaos Vehicle Accessory sprue comes with the parts for something called a 'Dirge Caster'. It's the angry looking face thing. You could very well turn them into Doom Sirens if you wanted to. I could see it looking quite good if you rig it on top of the Champion's backpack.

As far as the list itself (strong shooty, decent HTH), I'm not the man to ask about that - I swore off the Chaos Codex the moment I read that daemons were generic, so I can't really help you there except to parrot the others saying Lash/Oblits if you want to win - but from a fluff and modelling perspective, you could pick up, say, a couple of Emp's Children boxes to give you a few unique bitz, then a couple of regular CSM boxes, then about 4 Sonic Weapon blisters and you'll have enough bodies to ensure you can use all the guns. As I said, that's exactly what friends of mine did - two EmpChil boxes, a stack of spare sonics, and then loads of extra CSMs.

If you have the money I suggest doing what H.B.M.C. suggested about grabbing a couple blisters, boxs and CSM.

I actually think that they count it as our 2 only waves we are getting, the first and the last.

Obligatory GG reference aside, if they ever actually get around to releasing more models I would love to see plastic Raptors, I love the helmets, feet, and arched intake idea but over all I despise the model. Also buying a 5 man AM Box and 5 man CSM FA Squad costs a bit much for what they do.
