I know some people might disaggree, but it's true. The world is made up of nice guys/gentlemen/fedora men and pricks/asses/douches, and I'm the former. Yet why do I lose?
For that matter, why do all nice guys lose? You know what I'm talking about. Johnny Screws Everything He Sees has a wonderful guirlfriend who loves him, yet, as his name suggests, he goes off and screws the first thing that breathes. When you asks his lady why she dates him, she replys "I just love the bad boy vibe." WTF!!!
Sorry, just had to rant. Feel free to argue about this subject.

I have a solution.
1. Knowledge is power.
2. Power corrupts.
3. Study hard: Be evil.

The younger you are, the more that happens. Later on in life you'll start to find girls more interested in someone stable with a good job and place of your own and stuff like that, probably because they spent the last 5+ years off an on with the playa's and they're sick of em.

I think it's confidence more than "badness."
It's just that the bad boys definitely have confidence and a lot of the "good" boys don't.

It's definitely about the cojones. Bad boys have 'em.
You show too much empathy and willingness to listen, girls consider you "safe" and as such you get stuck in the dreaded "Friend Zone" from which there is rarely ever escape.
Basically, what it comes down to is: don't let them treat you like a tool to deal with their emotional issues, and call them out on it if they try. It's the only way they learn.

I had my ten-year high school reunion last summer. It's amazing how the people who were generally jerks/biotches in high school are still single and looked miserable. The people who were generally good people and tried to get along with everybody seemed more happy and appeared to be more successful in life.
Point is, it truly doesn't matter now(Nice guys finish last), but the Good Guy reaps the benefits in the future. It's like the Dark Side. Lot's of power now, but in the long run the Light wins out.

Maybe some of the female gamers on the site might perhaps provide some insight as to why girls seem to prefer the bad boy type? *audible sigh*

Evolutionary genetics. Strength and aggressiveness as well as the sense of a leadership role (or rather one of independent leadership in a society where actual leadership is very different from tribal norms) is attractive to a potential female mate.

Bad boys win most of the time when they're young. Bad is exciting so the girls go for it, but if the bad boy doesn't have some kind of substance hiding behind the bad boy image the nice guy pulls ahead in the end. When girls grow up and start looking more to the future rather than th ehere and now they look to the nice guy. There's security in thier stable demeanor and genuine care for others that becomes more attractive than the bad boy vibe. That's just from my observation on the subject. Best way to beat a bad boy is to become more successful than they are. Concert tickets and drunken parties while living in a trailer doesn't stand up so well to the guy with the same tickets and a four bedroom house with a nice car.
I had one of those bad boys from Highschool have to come out and dredge the crap out of my Koi pond lol. Sorry I just had to relish that memory for a minute. Does that make me bad?

Excellent! Nice is too often confused with weakness. By ourselves and everyone else.
I would add that you can be both. Adapt a certain shrewdness and confidence, in other words, be nice but understand and define where that begins and ends (usually right when someone starts to take advantage). Not saying you turn into a raging arsehole when you've decided your niceness should end, but no longer engage in whatever it was that crossed the line. My other thoughts these two already said.
Don't confuse niceness for weakness within yourself and soon others won't either.

I remember being lonely, at least in respect to women... then I had a few terrible relationships. Worked like a charm I tell ya' .
Confidence is key, and I would also argue that intelligence is also key. Just because you have a nice car and a nice job doesn't make you smart, and just because someone does work that you are too busy to do doesn't mean their stupid.
You know what though, I think you need to have a few more relationships before you really start to get all crazy for women; you are around 15 or so right? I don't want to get to far into this, but you should seriously focus on other things beside women and what have you; your no rock-star and there is very little you can do about that mate.
If you... hmmm... Be happy to be happy mate, that is about as good as it gets right there.
Yes nerd-chicks exist, no you can't buy one .

I know I should stop focusing on women so much, but it's hard sometimes. I know that I'm confident, but not in the strutting around peacock way, more a quiet calm assurance of myself. Yet despite that, I remain single, and am often times made fun of because of this. Well, I feel better now. Think I'll go to sleep now.
