Cause everyone knows the release schedule for the next 3 months and has a rough idea of the release schedule the 3 months after that.
Also they announced no new armies.

GW has a 5-year plan to get all the codecies updated. They also said during that time they will not release anything new until all the old stuff has been updated.

I suddenly feel like GW is taking over and the whole world (or those of us who play 40k) will be thrown into a state similiar to Maoist China or Soviet Russia...

Not that is published for all of us to read. You have to rely on uncertain sources and vague information.

I dunno, every time they release a new army they have the fanfare, then it all rather dribbles off and after a bit they want to pretend they never happened. Dark Eldar rather suffered this, but Necrons underwent a huge redesign, then there's Kroot as well. Same with games, any new games they release are just fine, but don't kid yourself that they will receive an ouce of fething support after a couple of months White Dwarf issues.

To be fair, GW doesn't announce anything - be they new armies, or even what's coming out for the next army. There will be no Alien Hunters Codex, just as there will never be another Daemonhunter Codex or Witch Hunter Codex. There will be a Grey Knight Codex and Sisters of Battle Codex though.

You thought wrong.
Grabthar - Ages ago, a talk with Jervis. He mentioned that A). there would be no combined book B). the books would focus more on GKs/Sobs and C). they got a little 'carried away' (his words) with all the 'Rogue's Gallery' Inquisitorial units.
As someone who loves and only plays the Rogue's Gallery Inquisitorial units, and owns not a single GK or SoB, I found this to be quite disheartening.

Gah!
Hopefully Jervis has been removed from the team working on the next round of Inquisition books.
If there's a force out there (aside of Chaos, of course!) that needs the diversity and options, it is the Inquisitors!

Taking a moment to imagine all the 'counts as' armies out there using the WH/DH army lists for their army builds, it would be a crying shame to see them clobbered with the mundanity hammer and reduced to: space marines with nemesis weapons and SOBs.
As to new races? It would be foolish IMO to begin these when GW can't seem to keep it's house in order with existing races.

That's a VERY good point.
DH/ WH are probably the "go to" books for Counts As.
I think we've moved a bit away from the Jervishammer mistake of the Dark Angels.
I guess we'll just have to hope the 'right' guy gets the job.

Exactly.
They need to be able to publish a required update for each core army within the reasonable lifetime of an edition of rules, before bringing any new armies into the game.

Er... Codex: Witch Hunters practically is Codex: Sisters of Battle. If you ignore the Assassins (which I see as a separate force of their own), there are only three non-Ecclesiarchal units in the book. Then again, Codex: Daemonhunters is almost the same. If Games Workshop wanted to make an Inquisitorial army, they needed to add, oh, I don't know, perhaps some Inquisitorial forces?

I did a quick check via gw.com and my fuzzy memory and it actually looks pretty evenly split between SoB and Inquisition, especially when you add in units they don't list like Inq. Stormtroopers.
I'd like to see the SoB get a dedicated and better written Codex, but I'm worried they'll lose the current metal models for a bad plastic remake. Even the C:WH releases did not impress me as I feel they went a bit too far in 'armored lingerie' direction... Not that the origional models didn't have a bit of that, but it was (by GW standards) relatively subtle. For the C:WH releases we got the nekkid repentia and a canoness with a cone-bra and an extremely un-safe back mounted torch.
(I really liked the Repentia as presented in a citadel journal. For models, it combined bits of a SoB with an Escher to look like it was wearing thrown-together bits of SoB armor. The rules, which weren't very good in play (from what I heard) were at least a neat idea: The Repentia was a squad 'booster' type character that could be added to SoB, IG, or others and would essentially be vicious in combat. An idea I suggested back then was to do this for the Codex, but let them basically allow a unit to extract itself from melee, but likely by dooming the Repentia. The rules we got remind me more of WHFB Rat Ogres...)

Yes but it is the allying side that make it suitable for the counts as options and gives it diversity. That's what I'd hate to see taken away and what I can see being done.

GW can't keep up with what armies they have currently (DE, Necrons, and SW are proof of this). I hope they don't add a new race ever, its not needed. If they are obligated to add a race, then just add them to the Tau as they collect them.

 Sad but true.
Hearkening back to an earlier thread by H.B.M.C., it is enough to make one wish that they do NOT update the DH/ WH books for as long as possible...
