I have never liked Catachans, but damn these models are nice. I see Dark Heresy applications for Mr. Straken, and Mr. Harker has a date with my Goliath gang.

Indeed.

I do notice that September is a rather quiet release month.

The only complaint i have are for straken ,
the ammo belt is distracting the attention away from the coolest part about him ( the bitten off part )
Also , his fist holding that useless machete is pretty much same dumb idea if a power fist is holding a knife .

his body isnt as sexy as harker ( fat waist )

Harker is pretty perfect , makes good new standard / prototype to how GW should sculpt body proportions
( no more heroic scale please )

Dark Hersey was the first thing I thought too. I like both models, but not the $82.50 for Azhag I just noticed.

Oh yes, Azhag's up:

Listen honey, you get your entire right side bitten off by something with teeth bigger than battlecannons, get it replaced with bionics and then try to maintain your figure. It ain't easy, let me tell you!

So, is Azhag a collectors model? It's not showing up on the pre-orders page for me. I did spot it on the general fantasy page though.

I gotta admit, Straken's nips are kind of weird. Especially the robotic one.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

They look like hard pencil erasers. Hmmm...

Yeah anyway, the only thing I'm going to change about Straken is removing the clip from his shotgun. Otherwise that kick ass bandolier is just for show.

Orkeosaurus - One wonders why he even has a metal one. It's like those rubber nipples in Batman's suit from that movie who's name my therapist removed from my memory - why were they there???

Well he needs to reload the mag after he's used it, doesn't he? He could also be carrying special shells that he loads manually.

He have the body of an old granny. so wrinkly , like a paper bag
And im going to complain about Azhag just because GW always seem to release new edition of a model
im trying to sell.

GRRRRRRR

I also dont like the skull on straken ( alligator? ) even steven irwin can take care of that , without getting half of his body chewed off.
dont like his tooth necklace , not only isit badly placed that covers the cybernetic body , its not moving down towards the ammo belt
(esthetically its not conveying the action of him raising his arm , no contrast )

Joell Schumacher is to blame for the nipples.

Eh, I'm a big fan of big sweaty hands shoving things into tubes in the heat of battle. The magazine is the only thing I dislike about the model.

Those two make me want to play a kill team style mission really badly. Can you imagine re-playing the film Predator with some Catachans? With Straken as Arnie and Harker as Jesse Ventura?

Straken just doen't work for me. THe dynamics of the model just do not feel right. I like Harker a lot though.

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

I must've chose a great time to finally add guard to my WH/DH armies. Luckily, I chose Catachans.

I like everything about both of thos models except for the paintjob on Straken. Fabulous.

Love Harker, with Straken I wish the shotgun had been drum fed instead (drum shotguns=cool), also that mecha nipple has to go, but apart from that its an awesome mini.

Omadon's Realm

That wyvern's pose is great, the face very characterful, I'm not so taken on the orc himself, he looks quite mellowed out and lacking in the malevolent menace I would have liked to have seen from a greenskin warlord high on the ebilness of the greatest necromancer/liche to have existed. Could have done with more glowering and an unnaturally intelligent looking evil about him for my personal opinion.

The imp guard, I think the bionics for the straken model look too advanced and steamlined, like a tau or eldar feel, it's not earthshattering though and it's nicely sculpted. The OTT skull is also abit erm, OTT. Harker, well lets see, I want to see one sculpted to carry an assault cannon and wear a bush hat a'la Jesse Ventura in a certain Arnie movie...

Both models for me get too far from why I like imperial guard, which is their humanity and fraility compared to all the death robots, alien killing machines and genetic super men, but then they are heroes, and a personal choice, I certainly can't say they are badly sculpted.

I agree with MeanGreenStompa in that Azhag looks like an afterthought after th uber cool wyvern. The crown is tooo bland.

Also I agree that the bionics look way too advanced/well built. He's still a guardsmen, and it should be more 'rougher'.

The Harker model is very, very cool however.

I think Azhag is meant to look a bit stupid or has had a stoke due to the crown.
I had heard it was going to be plastic & so I was expecting a price tag of £20 to £25 so a bit shocked at the £50 price tag!
Yikes.

Your right about Straken's nips - maybe I'll convert him by adding a nurgling suckling from him!!

As much as I want that Azhag miniature, 65,- Euro crosses the line for me.

Seriously, has GW gone insane now? I don't care if it's all metal and a character, no way in hell I'm paying that. They can shove it up where the sun doesn't shine.

I think I saw a release date of September 9th mentioned somewhere, but whether or not that is true I don't know.

As does $82.50 USD

15 part metal model means that the figure is targeted for experienced modelers, and not your average person. With the release of the plastic dragon I too was hoping for a plastic kit expecting that the popularity of the OG line would allow the character to be done in plastic. Guess I was wrong.

I'd rather have seen double the price and a FW resin kit. I cannot justify $82.50, no matter how cool the pose, to replace my current Orc on Wyvern.

I really love Strakken in comparison to the old model for him. Yeah, the machete is pretty useless if he's already got a power fist, but it looks pretty cool. I'd cut off the shotgun magazine though. Doesn't look right to me.

Harker is also pretty freakin' sweet.

I'll be getting these when I get my Catachans running again...

Harker really rocks. He looks like a Space Marine without armor. Cool. However, why do Catachans always have to take their shirts off?
