So i am not quite sure where i should make this thread but does GW or FW make the Dominatrix model for tyranids? Was it every made for tyranids? I recently found the rules for it but i have never seen the model before, i was wondering if anyone else has seen the model/has the model. Is it possible to get the model?

I am pretty sure i need a few of them to step on some IG

No GW or FW model for 40k, but they used to have one for Epic.

It's supposed to be the biggest of all the bio-titans and fluff-wise it's the center of the Hive Mind of a given hive fleet, IIRC.

Yeah, a model of the Dominatrix would be HUGE for 40K scale. Easily larger than a Reaver Titan, and pretty long as well.

I think its about time somebody scratch built one. The epic style is not to my taste though - too much like a cow with a gun strapped on its back

aww well that blows. I thought the biggest thing fluff wise was the Norn Queen.

Man i wish they would make one of those things. I plan on getting a bio titan when i finish painting my stuff, but that thing would be epic.

The land of cotton.

Bell of Lost Souls has an Apocalypse 'Dex for Apocalypse that includes a Dominatrix:

It has a nice scrtchbuild that looks like an overgrown Heriodule.

If your cows look like that, I advise you to stop eating beef.

It looks to me like a paper mache monstrosity.

I heard of it too, thats a really old mini!

The sculptuing concept seemed to imply there was a race of aliens at the heart of the entire hive mind in EPIC. It was a departure from what has become cannon now for the Tyranid concept.

I think the art on top of the dominatrix was lifted from the 'aliens' ship that had a similar prop in the scene:

The thing on top of the dominatrix reminded me of the space jockey as well.

Dominatrix is smaller than the bigger of the two bio-titans by about half. It's not super strong, having just a si gle bio-cannon, but it's majorly psykic and would probably have a table wide synapse range.

I guess the Dominatrix has some structural points and so will not be playable in regular 40k games, but in Apocalypse.

the Domi is a hive node, its the backbone synapse creature for larger tyranid forces on the ground. they are huge, and can hold their own in combat as well as a gunight, all while holding synapse at a great distance.

Actually, it just suggests the symbiotic relationship between the proper Dtrix and its "mount". Tyranid weapons, etc. are basically all symbiotes. It's really just an extension of that relationship.

I agree they were evoking that image, though.

I thought they only made the Exocrine, which was as close as the Tyranids came to a tank back then.

Yeah, the armorcast models haven't aged very well.

They made an Exocrine, a Malefactor and a Haruspex, IIRC. In context of the 2nd Edition models, they fit in perfectly. Compared to the look and feel of the models now, they're very very outdated.

They also made a fourth, kind of an artilery thing that threw spore sacks of some kind. I don't remember the name of it however, it's the onlY one of the four I do t have.
