Very sweet indeed!
The stowage is also very tempting. Once the beastmen come back, order here you come!

This is a brilliant idea! New helmet designs and so on would be great! One with a more distinctly great helm look would be a good place to start IMO, at the moment we have a type of barbute and an armet helmet. A sallet and bevor set up would look cool too I think.

Could be a good source of initial inspiration.

I never really liked armets, they were always a bit too pompous for my liking. Barbutes are nice and simple, yes, and might make a good starting point.

It's a shame there's no way to get a bevor and sallet onto it, damn it not having a more humanoid like build!

They already have a barbute and an armet styled helmet in the plastic kit. With the sallet idea, I was kind of imagining it having a similar appearance (with the characteristic "overbite" look of the sallet) but actually being a one piece mask.

I want to say a week or two tops. She has super fast shipping considering she's halfway around the world.

If you could make a piece that would cover the Taurox side doors with a more square design that fits the boxiness of the model you'll have saved it completely. I have no idea why GW put ship doors on it.

The suspension upgrade is great though.

You know what would be really fantastic? A Lancer conversion kit for the plastic Knight - multi-part legs with the extra joint and longer front toe, and a slightly sleeker carapace with a steeper incline when mounted, combined making a model that's a bit taller than the plastic Knight but doesn't look like a totally different class of warmachine which, to my eye, the FW Cerastus Knights do(they're not just a lot taller, but also much chunkier, which for me means they lose the visual implication of speed they should have over the normal Knight).

The plastic kit can be had for about £65-70 shipped from online discounters, and the FW Knight is £170, so I suppose a kit like that would come down to whether you've got the time, and whether you can do a legs+carapace kit that'll turn you a decent profit and still end up being cheaper when combined with the plastic kit than FW. I know I'd want at least a couple.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Maybe one day in the future. For now though. MOAR GUARD!

As far as alternate knight heads go. My vote is for the bird helmet.

That way it can head butt riptides to death instead of busting them up with a chainsword.

Well, I'll be back in my dungeon soon doing work, so I'll take everything y'all have said under advisement.

I'll also be having a chat with a couple of other talented folks that I met at PAX Australia and see if we can't spring some tasty surprises as well.

Plasma gun for Imperial Knights, this replaces the shoulder-mounted heavy stubber.

Spoiler:

Sorry if this is a little OT...

Whilst the twin plasma gun is very cool, and IMHO improves the look of the model...

Where on earth in the rules does it say that Knights can swap their stubbers out for these?

Also, second the call for a Lancer conversion kit for the plastic Knight...think they would sell like hotcakes...

One of the FW variants, the Knight Magaera (rules are available in the Downloads section of their website), has a phased-plasma fusil instead of a heavy stubber. As it is based of the basic Knight chassis (the plastic one) and comes equipped with a reaver chainsword (although can upgrade to the claw found on the FW model), the only other difference between it and a standard GW Knight in load-out is the plasma weapon and the lightning cannon. The cannon however is fairly similar to the battle-cannon found on the standard knight and could be converted fairly straight forwardly, but this provides the Fusil for the model if you wish to convert it. It is the only Knight variant with a plasma weapon I can think of though. Other than that it would be house rules or just for aesthetic purposes.

the Mothership...

The wheel kit definitely improves the Tauros alot. I still don't like it but with the conversion kit it moves firmly out of the "I can't stand it" category that the storm*insert bird name here* models also occupy.

BTW, lovely work on all this stuff, faolan. I know VM offers free shipping on stuff above $50, but it would be awesome to see a North American distributor in the near future.

Also, if you guys start pumping out Knight conversions, some not-tech-thralls would be awesome additions. After including FW's outrageous shipping, a 5-man squad ends up costing almost $50. If you could produce a 10-man squad for about the same price, it might be something to think about.

That is a great idea though! Maybe rather than full redesigns though, I think the combat armour torso, and maybe some of the legs, would be fine, but arms, heads and a tech-carbine of some sort that looked like some kind of laser weapon would be good for Tech-thralls, and indeed several Mechanicus units. The gun could be useful for Scions conversions too.

Well, if we're going to be throwing around ideas for not-Mechanicus units, some not-Thallax would be cool. Or maybe a robot that looks like the old Castellan pattern robots? Perhaps one that looks more like the original figure than the current Castellax?

Nowhere in the rules does it say that it can have a plasma there. It simply looks better, and most people don't have an issue with it, it's a bit like modelling open top hatch on a Chimera with extra heavy stubbers with gun shields on it - since it's not an actual upgrade option, nobody cares if you play it normal.

It's a bit like the Assault Marine model that you give a second pistol in the other hand to instead of a chain sword...

Bolt Revolver, Take Two, is in the works, just waiting on feedback from V.

For today, I'll pick another project to work on until I hear back from her.

For the next project, I shall let you folks pick from the following list (and ONLY from the following list, don't give me OH SHINY syndrome for once):

Power Fist
Power Axe
Not-Bolter
Heavy Flamer
Grenade Launcher
Bionic Hand/Arm
Bionic Leg
Lance (RR/Bike)
