Subject: Ork rumours - First post updated 31th May
Geez Goodbye 4th ed. Codex. pleasure was all mine...
Spoiler:
Oh and one more thing - that information about Bikers not having option to be taken as troops... Is it weak rumor or something bordering with certainty?
I just bought 4 additional boxes... Ahh Life...

Right now it's more of hysteria than anything else, really. I think someone didn't see bikers in the troops section and decided it's the end of all things. Going by that logic, Plagues, Zerks, 1kSons, Chosen and Noisys should be listed as troops because there's a way to make them so. That was never the case, so i'd rather calm down. There is a chance that wazzdakka gets squatted but that again is just the usual fear of squatted special characters. Not undeserved, given the last three dexes, but not a guarantee for him to disappear either.

Sometimes I catch myself daydreaming about souping up my Pontiac's puny engine and welding some sharpened steel to the bumper. It's already red so I've got that going for me.
I know how I'm blowing off all that built-up energy: a huge mega-battle when the codex drops. Doing my part for the global WAAAGH!
+1 for truth! This is the first GW release in ages that has me all giddy.
I've been mostly away from 40k since the 6th dropped, but between the 7th that looks to be slightly better AND the new proppa Ork release, I'm getting all ready to show my true colur and do a bit of... WAAAAAAAAAGH !

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Ork Buggies BS:3 (Grot Gunners) AV and HP unchanged +5pts apiece
As wide as the Trukk model, but half the length Ork Trukk-style tires Hot-rod engine with oversized engine piping along the sides Turret-gunner is seated behind the driver Multiple weapon options including: Supashoota (linked) Rokkit launcha (linked) Heavy Flamer (linked)
Big Guns There is contradictory chatter about a "Flakk" anti-air option for the Big Guns
Rumors reliability is average, coming from both known and unknown sources.

I've been making dice bags for a while(gotta put that theatre degree to use somewhere, right?) - and do a bunch of different screen printed ones as well as rpg-themed stuff like Dungeon Map dice bags. I've been beyond excited for this ork release, since it's my "first" new codex release since way back when I last played chaos marines back in 3rd edition. So I thought I'd make some orc-themed dice bags. A warboss has to keep his teef somewhere, right? If anyone wants to see more, head over to http://greyedout.etsy.com.
Man, talk about perfect marketing! I saw those dicebags and immediately placed an order for one of the black ones. Looks sweet! I hope you get loads of teef from the excited warbosses in this thread!

Write down a bunch of random stuff about orks. It'll be about as likely to happen.

If they are true, they seem pretty underwhelming. Buggies are already expensive considering how fragile they are and +5 points for a BS increase doesn't seem worth it.
short story : iron Inferno by C.I.Werner from the book fear the Alien
My bad. Also; I'm tempted to include that Eisenhorn short: Regia Occulta. Cos' it's kinda cool
Just including Regio Occulta in the list is practically a spoiler, lol. Great depiction of an Ork from a human perspective.
I know I'm not the only one, but I'm sincerely hoping for some new buggy/wartrakk models. So far all the releases have been mostly for kan wall/footslogging type armies, where's the speed freak love?

There's also a short story on the audiobook "The Kauyon" by Andy Smilie. First story is about a Tau Sniper team and the 2nd is about a Tau Crisis team (told from one of the pilots' perspective) engaging Orks
** Edit- I imagine they'll release some various Ork Klan expansions. Probably Evil Sunz or Deffskullz

It's in the Beasts of War video, but it's described more as speculation than rumour.
Given that those guys seem to have missed the fact Codex: Imperial Knights had super-heavy vehicles in it, my faith in their ability to notice important details is a bit low anyway.
Seems this thread is in need of a new rumor. This one is for the speed freaks via BOLS...http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2014/06/40k-rumors-ork-buggies-and-more.html

Just to do the maths on these fishy rumours (BS3, 35 pts buggy)
* A Dakkabuggy currently lands 1.6 St5 hits, which is 18 points of model per St5 hits
* A Bs3 Dakkabuggy would land 2.25 St5 Hits, 15 points of model per St5 hits
If you want to think about the flashgitz pure dakka-ness (to get a full picture you'd need to factor range, mobility, FOC slot, assault capability etc...)
* a Flashgit (when stationary) will land 1.5 St5 hit which is 14.6 points of model per ST5 hits albeit at AP 3.5
So they are in the same rough dakka-ness space and the price, although it seems high, might not be so bad.
You'd have a choice:
Flash gits: - on good days can get AP1 - for what it's worth on a ST5 gun.
- Ability to Assault
- Can be upgraded to be more resilient (put a "tanking Mega Armour IC at the front / put them in a building / put them in a BW)
- Can't be taken down by one lucky St4 shot (wounds)
- Look AWESOME
- can hide in terrain
- Can take a large unit
DakkaBuggy - Much longer range
- can move and shoot
- can go fast to grab objectives
- more resilient to average small arms
- immune to morale
- can be painted red
- can be sprinkled from tiny single model to a few models (in unbound armies you can have 5x buggies requiring your oponent to dedicate a few units to take all of them down - but unbound seems to really anger some )
I'm not sure I'd take dakkabuggies at 35 points but it's not so bad

Yeah, that rumor is pretty much hot air. It basically describes any ork vehicle ever, and I highly doubt buggies getting supa-shootas instead of big shootas. Also, very fishy that the rumor pops up right after we were wild-guessing that grots may pilot them on this very thread.
Also note that there absolutely no reliable rumors concerning biker units, at all. Even if Wazdakka is getting the axe, his rules might jump to the biker warboss, or - even more likely - you get a Kult of Speed formation allowing you to field a metric ton of fast attack choices with some sort of bonus.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong: Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other. A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot. Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests. Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books. Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor. Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers. Orks do not have the power of believe.
