looking at the bolter I think it was proably assmbled by playing a boltgun muzzle on a grenade launcher bit.

being beside such an old mini makes it suspect. if it was a pic taken of a prototype from GW's HQ then it seems more likely it would be taken beside a more recent mini. hell proably a space marine to give a sense of the change of scale

I'm sure the gun magazine is from an ad mech model. I'm calling conversion .

I hope Mark ten marines fit in with existing collections. Would happily reinforce my Imperial Fists but I'm not collecting smurfs.

Got my "Fallen" boxes last night. Not that I was expecting anything new, I just needed 2 more boxes of Company Vets for bits...and that's exactly what I got. No new art on the boxes, even came with the smaller bases. Cypher art card is cool though.

Not enough bling to be the new thing. Besides, I kind of like it so it must be fake.

I doubt it is a conversion. Looks pretty legit to me.

It is also exactly as described in that previous (4chan?) rumour. That person said that they had picture taken in private event, so probably this is the picture.

That same rumour mentioned the Guilliman's blood theory, I hope that part was not true. This model doesn't seem significantly larger (if any) than the new DW and TS marines. The look itself could easily be explained by new gear so I hope that's all there's to it. A new mark or PA and bolter, available to all chapters.

True. But really, now we have the regular Marine Tactical Squad, Mk III, Mk IV, and this one. Plus all of the Chapter specific ones. Do we really need more Tactical Squads? Though having a base Tactical Squad kit that is one armor Mk might be nice. Also, this might explain the great deal the Armored Assault boxes had.

I think that's a "true scale" marine someone converted. There's a whole community of people who do this. Do a Google Image Search for similar images.

it looks like a modified Sternguard Combi-Grav with a drum magazine. The top part looks like a Scout shotgun.

The hole in the drum of the bolter is what makes me think this is a conversion. GW wouldn't leave that open.

This is a beautiful conversion if so - really flawless bit of modeling.

I think it's a conversion too, but...

If they are real I expect UnerMarines to be part of the IoM Grand Alliance. So basically new Marines which ally with regular Marines.

There's a thread for the new Marine pic here:

Apparently GW have started sprinkling C&D and take down requests around. Guess new GW don't want marine sales falling off a cliff for 3-4 months.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Well I couldn't really blame them. The original 4chan post did say it was taken at a private event and that it could potentially get someone in trouble. It could someone either paid for tickets or was invited a event by GW to show some new stuff exclusively to that audience probably with a confidentiality statement included and someone went and spilled the beans.

They've been pretty chill sending out review copies so members of the community can indulge in our pastime of rumor mongering, even teasing stuff themselves and having fun with the community. While I'm excited about the "Mk2 Raptors" it kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth that if this is a case of someone taking advantage if GW finally lowering their guard after so long, what effect it might have on how they interact with the community in the future.

I really wouldn't doubt that some of the model designers convert existing parts to show a mock up. So many other people convert things, why not do it and get paid for it while showing an idea of what a model could look like?

Having combined several myself in the past to make drum fed shotguns, I can assure you that such a marriage does not produce children that look like this model's Bolter.

With this being out now -- and with the conversation having, understandably, moved towards a different angle going to lock this -- marine related discussion can, of course, continue in that thread.
