Their Space Wolf Terminator kits are absolutely gorgeous, and it almost looks like they CAD'd it for the new ones.

I just did several numbers in my pants at the sight of that wolf-rider. The space wolves will be mine. No powder-blue paint though. Perhaps more of a slate grey, something of a successor chapter. Aroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I ever played against an army that featured those things in any great numbers I'd probably be too busy laughing to actually play the game. I know that sounds hypocritical coming from a guy who plays with crisis suits (one of the worst Tau kits), but...at least I'm not fielding lolcats.

Alright, I kid...really though, the wolf's head and expression really let the model down.

Sweet plastics. Finally a pair of lightning claws and a thunder hammer for power armoured arms.

The giant wolf just looks wrong. I don't have a problem with giant wolves in principle, but the sculptor dropped the ball. It's interesting how often GW flub their animal sculpts. And as this one's so big that the flaws are very obvious. To sell the idea of something that can carry a massive Space Wolf, it should have had loads of bionics. I guess we'll see a talented modeller do something better in due course, but there's no way I'd want to field this model.

The Termies look great though. They seem to capture the presence and dynamism that Space Wolf models need (as depicted on the codex cover, which I think is one of the best they've done for a long time). I think the fact that Terminator armour is bulkier helps - the models in power armour look a bit puny by comparision, especially around the hips and legs (although I like the various heads and other bits).

Incidentally, FW already produce a set of Space Wolf Terminator bits. They are beautifully sculpted, and one of them would make a great commander for a Space Wolf army.

Does anyone know if they are doing a Space Wolf Terminator set, with customised parts, or do we just use the Space Wolf sprue to modify basic plastic Termies?

Why are these so slowed? That first dude is wearing Hulk Hands he painted blue, and those faces are just... eargh. Especially that guy with the creepy-uncle-you-caught-leering-at-you expression.

SO I have a theory for you all.

Canis Wolfborn is a wolf lord of another great company. Look how he's got the same red on him as some of those terminators.

Any guesses as to what his great company marking is?

A lot of great new bitz is what the scene deserved and seems to get along with a new rules set. The hobbyists of the world will show us great things from these ingridients - even if the overall impact of the new releases is a little "meh" in comparison to Space Hulk for example. The big wolf is the worst of the lot IMO. The Plasti kits look very promising, while all of Diaz's work always looks a lot better IRL.

Overall I am very pleased.

The power armor marines have much more beard, something that has been woefully missing from any/all non character space marines since the dawn of time. they also have different poses from the standard marine box set, always good for making each model as unique as possible.

The terminators look Great. Super ornate and ostentatious, these are Wolf Guard, heroes of the chapter, with many deeds under there belts and trophies to show off. I will end up getting at least 10 of these guys. (to bump me up to about 40 wolf guard terminator models, rofl)

Im on the fence with the Wolf-riding character. The wolf doesnt look scrawny and unable to support his weight, which was something I was worried about, but I agree with the above that the head on the wolf does not look right. The hero riding the wolf looks ok as well, I like the grizzled vetern feel to him.

Njal Stormcaller is amazing, well detailed with touches from the former model, note the pistol holster and staff are almost identical to the last models (sweeeeet) the face seems a bit off, but faces are hard to do, so no worries. I will be very happy to display this model next to the original.

The twin lightning claw wolf guard model, I already have it, it was a limited release a while back (I am guessing to test for demand for new, good Space Wolf models) and I must say that it is one of my favorite models in my army, (the non-converted ones at least)

I also like the trickster, I am going to convert the base to take advantage of the lifted-leg pose. Also, the Tricksters face has a Great level of character to it, it really looks like what I imagined Loki to look like, without being OTT, funky, or too muted.

I also really like the oversized "wolf-claws"

I have a theme going for my nid and space wolf armies around their power weps, frost weps, and claws....

The weapons of the Space Wolves were crafted from the teeth of the Giant Kraken on fenris, which is an ancient Tyranid beast left behind from the hive fleet that is now scattered among the stars drifting on Space Hulks.

I have painted all my nids with a blue-ice blue-white fade on their claws and teeth, and Ive used the same exact scheme for all the bladed weapons on my Space Wolves.



Overall, this is going to be an expensive release for me.
