I received my Ork army the other day from winning an 'Ardboy Semi. I decided to make a Blog about the painting and progression of the army, as I want to do this one squad at a time(as to not make the wife angry at more gray crap around the house).

The contents of the box I received are...

4 Ork Battleforces
1 Trukk
4 Bike Mobs
3 Killa Kans
2 Battlewagons
2 Stormboyz
2 Commandos
1 Big Mek w/ Shokk
1 Ghaz
6 Loota/Burna

With some help from my daughter, I(we) decided that I(we) wanted to do the Stormboyz first, so with her picking out which heads and arms went with the bodies, I got the first box put together, based and primed.

This is the result so far.


After some deliberation on what colors I wanted to use, I got started. The biggest hurdle I found was what I wanted to do with the Rokkits. I like the idea of gaudy, and "terrifying"(in their own minds) Rokkits descending upon the enemy, so Gaudy I went. Have a Swirly, Baby Blue, and the one my daughter absolutely loves, the "Easter Egg Cluster!"

Now, going to corral my daughter to help me with the other five...

Nice painting, but my only beef is one of the fluff; remember that Stormboyz are very soldier-like, and wear uniform colours (downroight unorky, da gitz!), unlike the Boyz who wear nutty bright colours.

Actually, this is pretty somber for the Orks that I paint. When I did a AoBR set, the Nobs were in Pink hotpants.


I figured, they're Orks, what do they care??

Next thing I'm going to tackle is the Big Mek, got him primed, and here's the picture. I won't actually work on him until next week, as I am headed to the 'Ardboyz finals this weekend, and want to prepare and make sure everything is ready.
