Yeah, the fact that GW's secrecy is out of control and that they're wasting what great opportunities Games Days could be isn't news.

I actually had a great time. I just wish I had more time to see the sights! Got there around 10:00AM, went right for Forge World to try and get the new XV9s, sadly, they were sold out. I was a bit surprised that there was no line at FW per se, more or a disorganized mob pushing forwards...surely there's a more efficient way to do things.

I spent the rest of the day talking to the dev team, asking them about the rationale behind certain codex/armybook decisions, clarifying certain rules intents, and prodding about future releases.

I also talked to a few of my favorite authors, like Abnett and James Swallow. Very down to earth, those two. Ran into Paul "Fat Bloke" Sawyer and Rick Priestly by Warhammer Historical and chatted them up as well. Really, all the GW "celebrities" were a pleasure to talk to.

I then went to Golden Demon for about an hour but the crowds were so thick it was hard to get a good look at the entries.

I wish I had more time to check out the DoW2 expansion and the mega/club gaming tables. I wouldn't want to play on them, but a few clubs went over the top with armies and terrain, which is always cool.

So yeah, had a great time, felt like a kid again, can't wait to go next year!

In my opinion i think that the games, the boards, the displays were amazing, the issue is the venue change this year was a bit of a muck up. they put it in different halls and the golden demon main hall was to crowded and there wasn't enough seating to watch golden demon which started late and was a shody ceremony .

However i did still enjoy gamesday in general.

I'm going to be equally guilty of this, but I think it bears mentioning and re-bumping the thread:

are hit as the inevitable flaming begins, double work for the mods as they try to reconcile
both the original alert and follow up alerts on the resulting posts.

TLDR: Hit Mod Alert, refrain from bumping.
