Just in case anyone jumps out and asks you.

Some days you just need to see a superhero kill a butt-load of terrorists.

And, for the record Jacob's Ladder is #$%^ing awesome.

Iron Man is rightly awesome. He has an amount of dakka that we can only dream of.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

It was a good movie though, for what it's worth.

Iron Man really had its moments, I especially liked the first prototype armour he built in a cave from a bunch of "scraps".

Downey Junior was pretty much perfect for the role, as he played Tony Stark just the way I imagined him.

And like all good Superheroes, Tony Stark becomes the disguise, and Iron Man the real person. Kinda like how Bruce Wayne is Batman's persona, not the other way around.

Bring on the second one. And the Avengers.

Agree with all the above statements. A really satisfying movie considering how boring they can make the genre.
Downey Junior's charisma made that character and I'm really looking forward to the second one.

Iron man was a pretty good watch, but I have to say the pace was a bit off. The whole story was good, but the sort of... winding stairs it went up, with an occasional stop at the coffee shop was, just a bit off.

MOAR ACTION!!! ... I may regret asking for that come time for the next movie though...

I was, until I found out the villain is freaking Crimson Dynamo. Are we seriously going to have to wait until the Avengers or something for the Mandarin or Fing Fang Foom? And didn't we just see a movie about armor on armor love?

Ah but it isn't quite that simple, they've combined Crimson Dynamo and Whiplash. According to wiki its going to be Dynamo's son.

Regardless of if that is right or wrong, if you can catch the extended trailer they showed at comic con, you will see he's gonna be a interesting villian.

Oh and edit, the first is one of my fave movies, certainly in my top three Superhero films, one of which is Hulk (2008 version) the other not so sure. It also has possibly one of my fave endings to a film ever.

Iron Man was great, I can't wait for the next one!

On a related note, Edward Norton is still interested in returning for the Avengers movie.

I think Edward Norton did a fantastic job in HULK. That was another good movie to add to the pile.
I cant wait to see the Avengers as well.

On a side note, The producers didnt WANT Downy Jr. at first. They thought he looked to "old" as they put it. Seriously he was PERFECT for the part

Ironman: It was just "ok" for me throughout the movie. The only parts i actually liked was when he was crashing into his cars in the test lab.

Jacobs Ladder : One of my favorite movie , yes i agree its amazing ^^

Iron Man was okay...extremely formulaic, and without Downey Jr.'s chatter and charm, it'd be very so-so.

I don't get the love for the most recent Hulk movie at all. That was a so-so film at best.

For me I base my views on the film on how close the characters are to their comic book counterparts, and with both Ironman and Hulk, it felt like they nailed them.

Same reason I like the Fantastic Four movies alot, and Spiderman films.

X-men films are an example of things going wrong, where they try to twist the charactrers away from the comics. Things like where characters come from being changed, and the overall look in general is a bugbear for me.

Word.

I actually winced at the scenes where he's flying in the garage, so many fine cars damaged. HAVE YOU NO DECENCY SIR!

I loved it. Art direction was fantastic. The newer one was very very blah.

True. But he did fight some tanks, aircraft, helicopters, and burutal battle with giant dogs.

The film tried to go beyond standard comic films into arthouse stuff. Hulk II was just standard summer fair. I won't worry about Hulk III (no big thing I'm pretty done with comic films).

Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of stuff about Ang Lees Hulk I really enjoyed. I loved the coming feeling, with the bright colors and the scenes shot in multiple panels, but some other stuff, like the poodles, where just plain dumb.

In Incredible Hulk he's fighting another giant green monster, exactly how it should be.

I'm kinda with Frazzled on this one. Ang Lee's Hulk actually tried to be something. Some parts were clearly flawed, and the ending vs. the Absorbing Man was lame. But at least Lee tried to give it depth and quality.

The plot/story/script/acting/direction in the most recent one seemed weak even compared to an episode of the Bill Bixby show. I get that people want to see Hulk smash, but that doesn't constitute a movie.

Well I liked the second as the story for me was quite interesting, nice to see the nod to him being on the run, allowed Hulk to speak and start to figure out how to control him as it went on, which has always been my fave version of the big man.

It also had Doc Sampson in there, and was setting up the Leader for number two. For me as a Comic book fan, its was a excellent movie.

Like I said when I go and see a Superhero film I'm looking for stuff that means the director has bothered to read the comics, and knows the characters.

Oh and the first Hulk had its moments, but the ending was poor in my view, Ang Lee has done much better stuff, seems he's much better with home field advantage.

And I can respect yours. It's nice that some discussions on Dakka can really end that way.

I also think that the Hulk vs. Super Soldier Blonsky were a pretty good set-up for the eventuel Hulk vs. Cap fight scene
