Those look fantastic!

Looks like the woodies just got shunted for new army project!!!

I have to say, these are some of the best models I have seen come out for a re release...they really did a great job making them

A) look like rats.

B) Capture the techno sorcerey look

C) making them dynamic.

Excellent stuff!

4000 - Skaven

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I already have a large unit of the metal Stormvermin... I only hope that they're worth anything in the new book.

I intend to replace all of my current clanrats with the new models, and demote the old ones to slavitude.

Holy crap. Definitely liking most of it. Queek's gut plate makes him look fat in the picture, hopefully its just a bad angle. Quite pleased with the pricing.

This may be the first time in all my years of warhammer that GW's website was the first break the new pictures to me.

Think I'll be buying me some storm vermin whether they are worth it or not.

The new Skaven are a huge improvement on the last version - they look like rats again. The new Queek is (in my opinion) the best Skaven character model since the original Gnawdoom (a little model with loads of personality). Best of all, however, is the plastic Doomwheel, which I intend to loot immediately upon its release - there are lots of great bits there for Ork conversions.

So the new price model is +$17 for a special choice? edit and they dropped the clanrat price by $2.

I guess they took a hit on the greatswords but are too proud to drop the price.

I love that they finally brought back the Doomwheel. I always thought it was the perfect mix of humor and utility in Warhammer.

The characters are.... interesting. I want to see them in person in bare metal/primed.

Queek must be a badass. look at the size of his trophy rack!

They will definitely stand out from the masses of rats tho.

The regiments look like they will rank up much better. I thought the Plague Monks were fantastic for this. small bits like tails do not have to be separate bits.

I am very glad they stuck with the 20 models/box for the units. I really dislike the 10 model boxes.

Oh, yeah. And the Doomwheel is plastic. Awesome!

Queek would have a hard time with a "whirling fighting style" with the trophy rack. That is a bit on the ridiculous side.

Pretty nice, the character models make me cry, though. But only because they are so awesome that I have to start skaven again! Noooo! No time nor money!

The Doomwheel is finally PLASTIC and not too badly priced, compared to, say, an Empire plastic Steam Tank.

Black Boxes with a Doomwheel and Clanrats will be in stores this week. Here's an article on the topic on the GW website.

Those sprue pics definitely push me from "like the model" to "willing to buy several of the kit". At 33 bucks, I might have to convert a few into some mono-wheel "buggies" for the boys. Too cool.

Teek - that was very similar to my thought. I'm giving some thought to an Ork "counts-as" army using Skaven - and I was thinking of Doomwheels to make a Biker Nob squad.

Clanrats are just horrible. Quite possibly a step backward.

Rest of the models are just wonderful. I especially like the stormvermin. Queek will probably have his trophy rack pared down.

Went digging through my old posts, and guess what? I've been hating on mat ward since before it was cool

Just tried to put my sodding order through (one of everything, barring an extra Clanrat and Queek) and the Website won't let me, because the Clanrats are apparently unavailable.

Admittedly the heads are a bit goofy to me, but these are so infinitely better than the monkey-dogs we've been plagued with for years ... I look forward to more shots of the silververmin (ala goldswords ) though, nice halberds-out! look to them en masse.

Love the look of pretty much all the figs, especially the doomwheel.

Wait, clanrats are actually 2 bucks cheaper than previously and they are new sculpts? It seems like it is actually something positive GW is doing. Dakka-sense, tingling - quick! Someone find fault with it and cry foul!

I think we would have gotten it without the explanation, but thanks for expecting that much intelligence from the dakka members...

The sprue is a moderate let down for me, as much as I like the models, the monoposes turning me a bit down...

Monopose can be a godsend in Fantasy, what with the ranking up! Plus with Skaven in particular, having multiple parts and a variety of poses is a pain in the arse when you have to assemble 60 of the buggers just for your minimums!

(n.b. the minimums referenced above would be 2x30 strong units, which I consider to be minimums for a 'strength in numbers' force like Skaven. This is not a rumour of any particular official minimum)

Have now removed the Clanrats from the basket, but still can't place my order. Bugger.

AMEN! Monopause is the best thing that can happen to a horde fantasy army. Don't get me wrong! But I like to have the possibility to convert my rats for Mordheim or Blood bowl...
