Hey,
Did anyone else notice that on the gamesworkshop website that they took off the skaven battleforce. It was on there yesterday but not today.

No surprise, there, they want to push the Skaven individual sets before pushing the Battalion. This has been the marketing model for some time now. Occasionally product is posted early by mistake, then removed for a while. It's happened several times during the past year.
Interestingly, in the case of Space Wolves, the individual sets are now released and their Battleforce is being released in less than two weeks, yet the Battleforce still does not appear on 40K Advance Orders, at least not at the moment I'm typing this.

Awesome! New models look great, and they appear to have removed the useless screaming bell, in its place the Doom Wheel! Fantastic stuff. Also, plague censers as a special unit, sweet. Come on Nov 7th. Getting me some storm vermin and a Queek. And new codex of course!

I think I'll wait for the book before I cash in.
Why-oh-why did Skaven have to immediately follow Space Wolves?
I have to admit that I was terribly afraid GW would put out 10 model boxes.

Just noticed that from the Advance Order for Skaven on the main website. Four new plastic kits? I only see Stormvermin, Doomwheel and the basic Clanrats. Wonder what the fourth could be?

Stormvermin - 20 models - £29.35
1. Graveguard. 10 models for £16.65
2. Greatswords. 10 models for £24.45
3. Flagellants (though not Heavy, they are limited list wise in a similar way) £13.20 for 10 models.
4. Templeguard. 10 models for £16.65
5. Black Orcs. You guessed it! 10 models for £16.65
If had listed them in order of release, so the pricing trend would be clearer.
It seems to me that Stormvermin are underpriced by a few pounds. 10 Stormvermin for 20 GBP seems like it'd be more in line with the Greatswords, so 20 models for 30 GBP is a real bargain.
Perhaps GW will correct the pricing before actual release.

I don't know if "bargain" is the term I'd use but yes, the stormvermin are not as expensive as the greatswords thankfully.

Cheaper than the Greatswords could be taken as cheaper than the might have been.
And £30 for 20, as opposed to £48 for 20 is a significant saving (Plastic kit compared to metal kit there.).
So whilst they might not be as cheap as they could have been, they can be said to be cheaper than they were. Some might say the comparisson between metal and plastic is flawed, as we're not comparing the exact same models, but although not necessarily an invalid argument, I'd say it's splitting hairs a little.

The metal models went through a large price hike due to a 'worldwide tin price crisis', whenever that crisis(?) subsided or failed to happen, the metals remained at that greatly inflated high.
These plastics are being moved gradually to equal the metals in price, it was stated in the financial report that the senior execs believe the plastics should be selling at the same price as the metals.
The prices for the plastics are divided according to whether the unit is rare/elite or a regular troop type, there is no justification for that other than greed. This was never the way GW used to price, which was based on number of minis, size of minis etc not 'exclusivity' of the model for sale.
Nice models, shame about the pricetag.

I never said there wasn't a savings, I said I don't think I'd use the term "bargain." I don't think anything in the GW catalog can really be considered a bargain (except for maybe the WotR line).

I used it on the off chance that a GW Pricing rep was reading this as he was updating the coming worldwide pricing update for next year.
Besides, it's clearly in a GW context, so it's clearly relative.

GW charges the same for plastic Terminators as metal Terminators, and people pay that price. And then GW increased the price. It has been proven that people will pay the same as metal for plastic.
If people would just stop paying GW's inflated prices, GW might not raise them as often. But as long as we choose to accept GW's higher prices with our wallets, GW will never stop increasing.

IIRC, it was a random movement ( 3D6?) chariot with warp lightning generators attached.
