Some excellent details. Do I spot a massive moldline on one of those statues though? Oh snap.

Really well done. They should have used some of armorcast's muzzle flashes though, the weapons look awfully static.

Indeed.

I hope before the marine statues in that scale are released to the public to buy they resolve these issues.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Great stuff.

Articles that feature awesome and heavy conversion work such as these are probably the one thats give me the most motivation to open up my wallet for GW products. Marketing ftw.

Did anyone else notice in the construction phase of the diaroma that the statues at the front of the bridge looked like injected plastic? I know they have molds of the three ups but I didn't think they had gone to the trouble of making metal molds. You know, the kind you use for mass production? Hint, hint?

Wow, I just noticed the massive mold lines as well. That's kind of funny.
I love the diorama though, my favorite part about playing with miniature soldiers is thinking up and telling stories with them. All of the conversions and little details really captured the feel of a real 40k battle.

That's just amazing, I love all of the detail that went into it. The article was also helpful too, showing you a good way to make cool explosion effects.

My favorite parts are the infiltrating genestealers (that one on the landing pad especially, those are some dead servitors), the gaunts using the carnifex as a bridge to get to the speeder, and the terrain is nicely done too. I like the walls peeking out here and there from the rocks. I like the scene with Lukas leaping onto the lictor's back, too.

They may mass produce them within the studio, create generic space marine heads and armor etc. that they can then sculpt over. Theres only so many screaming heads you can sculpt in one lifetime
But I agree, you'd think that they wouldnt use injection moulding for that, hmmm...

Awesome awesome diorama. Love every lil detail and story that goes into it. That being said, lil details like mold lines and not drilling out the barrels kinda ruins what is a great overall story battle.

Only makes me glad I bought the SW Codex now. I hear the howling...

Stuff like this is what really makes me love Warhammer and Games Workshop. All of the small little things are so cool.

The explosions with the flock is really innovative and something that I actually want to try out!

More stuff like how to create explosions would be seriously helpful. If GW continues to innovate like with this, then I can say that I have no complaints at all! : )

It is indeed good to see return to large-scale awesomeness by GW. The closely-pack gaunt hordes and 'splosions are really nice tips. I'll be using those on some bases soon!
