This is a good day. I'm not tired, I'm not depressed, and I'm getting my glasses this week. Life is good.

Who else is having a nice day?

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I never get to sleep in. I work weekdays. My girlfriend works early on weekends and doesn't drive. Today my morning customers pulled out I could've slept in... but I couldn't have known. I'm tired, but not depressed. My vision is still perfect. Today has been so-so.

Wait , i didnt mean contact > glasses on the "look" though yes its better .

But , here are some points worth considering:

1) If you can get used to wearing contact ( its not hard ) you only have to put it on , take it off once a day 5 seconds max .

2) Ppl that wears glasses , their eye ball seem to buldge out over time

3) Wearing glasses, your eye sight gets worse alot faster than contacts ( there is a specific word for it 閃光 , i dunno it in english )

Glasses are for real men, Cheese.

Plus, you can use them for fantastic pranks if you can get your hands on a laser pointer.

My grandfather has worn glasses since he was ten, and he's 83 now. He can still see just fine.

But what happens when you take his glasses away?

So far today is okay. The weather is nice. It was Typhoon #3 last night. I was a bit peeved they changed my schedule at the last second after rushing to get in early to prepare, but hey, I'm starting the day with a nice well deserved 3 hour break. I've got my Devil costume ready to go to scare all the children at the school and I found 5000yen in my backpack. Today is pretty good.

Come to think of it, I might as well share what made my day:

We just installed an invisible fence for the puppy. She's not yet figured out that the beeping noise is what proceeds the BZZT to her neck.

It's fantastically funny to watch. Especially since she's been chasing squirrels, and then halts mid-run right at the beep--ignores it, and keeps running.

Also, found out that I got my final grade for a 3.00 credit hour class(81, wutwut), and that my order from Squadron Shop is coming tomorrow. This leads to another story:

A Stryker kit I had ordered from them was missing parts. Due to them not having a duplicate in stock, the amount was credited back to me as a way of apology. While consulting the sales rep, I found out that one of my favorite tank models I've been hunting for went up on sale from $36 to $19.86, not counting the additional 25% off sale they've had this October.
So, for the same price as my Stryker kit, I'm getting 2x 1/35th scale Chieftain Mk. Vs, and a gaggle of Vallejo airbrush paints, alongside of a guarantee that they'll replace my Stryker kit when it's restocked.

How's THAT for a good day!

What everyone wants (whether they know it or not) is laser eye surgery. I love having better than 20/20 vision!!

Anyway, this week is half-term. Being a teacher, that makes me happy.

I also met Max and OB from the Brit soap opera, Hollyoaks, whilst very very drunk on Saturday night (which was way better than running into 4 of my 15 and 16 year old students whilst very drunk on Brick Lane earlier the same evening - that will be interesting when we go back...) and had a blinder of a piss up at my friend's birthday cocktails on Friday...

Today I sacked off doing marking to get bits for my continuing gameboard construction project and bummed around the rest of the day.

The only cloud on the horizon is the holiday cold I am developing, but maybe I'll get lucky.

I cried so much cause I thought "what if i had to get rid of my dog".

Those videos make me sad too. It's why I'd never give up my pets.

If you are forced to give up your pets?

Simple: Don't give them over to a kill-shelter. ALWAYS research the facilities around you. There's also organizations, private kennels, things of that nature that will take animals and ensure they either get:
A) A good home
B) Humane treatment
C) A place to stay for as long as it takes to find said animal a good home...
or
D) All of the above.

Just remember--donate your time/money towards programs that support these kinds of places. More often than not, they're run by a single person who just loves animals. If they go under...all those animals are screwed.

Also - Love my contacts, and I have the 30 day leave in ones (so no taking them in and out every morning, you can sleep in them for a month)!

Take it from someone who's been wearing contact lenses for the better part of 15 years - they're not that bad... as long as you have soft contact lenses. The hard ones, that are tiny and made of glass/plastic... dear God those are a nightmare. Needed a little plunger-like suction cup to get them off of my eyes each night - and if you have a brain-fart and forgotten you've already taken the contact lens out... then you have a rubber sucker stuck to your eye, and the only way to get it off is to twist it off. Honestly, that's more painful than when I was completely awake for my second cornea transplant.

What was I saying again... oh yes, contacts. Soft ones, you don't even know they're there.

And this is why I wear glasses (and have since I was 6 - almost 35 years).

Astigmatism. Contacts don't do diddly squat for it. I have a shade off perfect in my left eye, right eye is astigmatic and myopic.
I wear glasses because you can't get a decent monocle these days.

Hard contact lenses do... well... for a while... until you start getting ulcers on your eyes. Not pleasant... trust me.

I had astigmatism combined with kerata-conus (or however you spell it). Not fun.

MY entire week is being crappy. School's are on half term, which means my takings are waaaaay down. And I have several bashes this week to fund, not to mention the food shop. Money is so crap, I actually lost money yesterday. Humbug!

Contact Lenses seem like a good idea, until you realise that they can (and do) lead to Eye Ulcers, which lead to pain and ultimately blindness.

Astigmatic Contact Lenses are available, but you need to be fitted for them.

@Arctik_Firangi: lol.

Wearing one of those on Saturday to a Halloween party (steampunk theme, going as a clockwork borg).

Good thing about the right eye being so bad is that I can wear a prosthesis over that one and still see pretty well out of the other (and retain enough depth perception to be not incapable of fetching food and drink).
