Hey hope this is the right place for this very noob question. Can I take trucks by themselves or only as dedicated transports? If ya then what are they under heavy, fast?

They can only be taken as a transport.
You don't have to put the transported mob in it though. So you could take a boyz mob, leave them slogging, and then stick burnas or tankbustas or something in the trukk. They have to start the game out of the trukk though.

Thanks for the quick response. Ok well it makes sense. Now i just wanted to double check with embarking out of a truck. can I move the truck 13(RPJ) disembark 2" and then shoot or just the 6" assault?

move 13", disembark 2", shoot and assault, assuming everything shooting is assault weapons (which for Orks, I think is pretty much everything)

A looted wagon can replace a trukk in a pinch, and you can start embarked inside it with anyone (+1 front armor isn't shabby either). Trukks are generally better for mobile transports though with fast, ramshackle, the free shoota, and the free FOC slot.
Note that dedicated transports count as the type of the unit taking them, so a trukk for boyz is of type Troop (matters a lot for DOW, for example).

So i can deploy the trukk with the boys inside. Do i have to do that or can i deploy them beside the trukk. Say if i wanted to put the burnas in the trukk 1st turn. Do i have to embark the boyz then take the burnas in?

In this case you want to roll the Trukk on no more than 8", tell your opp. your intention so you don't have to waste time actually moving the burnas 6" then removing them when they board. Your boyz are free to move onto the board anywhere per normal rules.

This is one of the single best changes from 4th edition to 5th edition, that and everything can run. Helps out Orks more than any other race IMHO.

That and blast rules auto hit. 3 things that help orks more than anyother race.

You don't have to deploy the boyz inside the trukk, they're just the only unit you CAN deploy inside the trukk.

Basically:
Deploy boyz wherever
Deploy trukk wherever
Deploy burnas by trukk

Embark burnas in turn 1 movement before moving trukk
Trukk can move as normal

I believe you could also deploy the boyz in the trukk then disembark them (and move/shoot/assault with them) -> embark the burnas -> move the trukk, but I'm not 100% sure that there isn't a rule I'm missing that prevents that.

Awesome guys thanks for helpin me out. Im still new to the Warhammer so sometimes my buddies pull a fast one on me cause i forget rules and such

Depending on Army builds and play styles I would agree with you. My comment was based mostly on the comparitive BS of Orks being 2. Shooty Nids are still something that seems odd to me because of my inelastic brain. Although I love the idea of Nids outshooting other armies just for the surprise factor if nothing else. My main opponent plays Nids and I can see a big dif. between 4th and 5th with our games.
