After much work, crazy schedules, and a move across country to sunny California, Waaagh Bad moons is back! I have finished the army and taken shots of everything. I'll be posting them over the next week or so, but here is the 1st one, to whet your appetite.

You can also see the updates on my blog, LittleLeadMen.com.

LIL KONG- The Stompiest Dred of them All.

UPDATE: Well that was a wild ride! The Bad Moons army was posted on Ebay and had over 37,400 views of the auction, with well over 110 watchers. And then it didn't sell.... I re-listed the army and then received several offers. I'm pleased to announce that the army has been sold to a fine gentleman in Ohio- congratulations and great gaming!

With that finished, I'm going to be moving onto some other hobby projects that have been nagging at me- expect some pictures over the holidays! Among some of the new upcoming minis are Tyranids (the new codex looks too interesting to pass up!) as well as my Inquisitorial and Adeptus Mechanicus figures!

Amazing painting. To be honest, that doesn't look as ridiculous as it should, and I'm not certain why. Maybe the massive claws in the photo...

I did win an army painting competition at the LA Battle Bunker. I won Best 40k Army, as well as Players Choice for Best Painted Army over all. I also won a similar competition in NY, as well as at some RTTs. I've painted almost 4000 points of Bad moons, all of which will be shown here in the upcoming week.

Here are some more:

First up, the "Angry Dred"

Next, some Killer Kans. The Scrap Launcha guns count as grotzookas. The resin pieces are available from Iron Dog studios.

They look really cool, especially the angry dread. Loving the heavy flamers in the knees.

Here is my main battlewagon, the "Yellow Fever". It's a kit bash, combining the front of an Ork Battlewagon kit, the tracks from a Land Raider, a huge gun and loading deck from a WWII Morser Karl kit, and the howda from the Forge World Squiggoth.

Here are some more updates. First up is an Assault on Black Reach warboss, with trusty ammo grot.

Next up, the BIG SQUIGGOTH! I scrathbuilt a new howda for the Squiggoth, in order to accommodate more guys. Sometimes he's played as a "counts as" battlewagon, hence the grot turrets with big shootas on the sides. When he's played as a Squiggoth, he's Cyborked, which is shown by adding a power plant on top of him, as well as tesla coils around his head.

I like the battlewagon converted out of the SM Landraider. And that stompa is uber awsome! U should make a looted wagon with a basilisk cannon and a rhino body with tons of plasticard to make armour!

Here is one of my HQ choices- the "Mad Dok Spleen Rippa". (Counts as Grotsnik for my 40k League games)

The Mad Dok is typically being fielded with a unit of Burna Boys. They'll be shown a little later. In the meantime, here is their ride, a looted wagon with a skorcha.

Very nice. Some interesting choices though, such as a closed looted wagon for burna boyz.

Also did you inherit the old school style boyz or choose them? You've done a great job on them but I thought personally that their 2nd Ed aesthetic didn't really fit with the modern look orks in terms of personal decoration on the mini and the old 'Kev Adams' style smiling ork face.

I love the doc, that guy is brutal.

That's not a closed wagon- the back is open for the boys to jump in and out. You have to go for the open wagon for burnas- it's a golden rule somewhere.

I actually chose the 2nd edition orks for trukk boys. Back when I started my army, I envisioned having two units of burna boys that would steal trukks at the start of the game. I figured 2nd edition boys were weedy, and would always lose their trukks. Over time, my army grew, and grew, and the lists I played evolved and changed. I still like the old timey boys. They're not the only troops in my list- you'll see more later, but they hold a fond spot in my gaming heart.

As far as I'm concerned orks IS orks. I like all of the editions/versions of them.

Burna Boys! Here is a ten ork squad of burna boys. Included is a Mek for the squad, which I sometimes field. I've had mixed success with adding the mek, sometimes its great to fix vehicles and use the Kustom Mega Blasta, other times, it doesn't seem so great. Hit or miss, really. Cool model, though.

Congratulations on getting those hideous (yet oh so characterful) 2nd ed orks to blend in with the new stuff, my only gripe is the arm size on the big shoota ones is a lot chunkier than the rest, but its not that noticable unless you look close.

very crisp yellows, especially liking the trukk and the battlewagon with HUGE gun

I'm sorry, but this is honestly the best, most phenominally painted, characterful, and down right awesomest Ork army I have ever seen.

I absolutly love the little details you give them just to make them special and bring out the character in every model. The little grot harvesting mushrooms, the grot with the bom on the squiggoth, "Da Doc Is In" on the Mad Doc. It's really fantastic. By far my favorite piece in this army would have to be the Meganob with the blue banner, I love the way you did the head.

This army is so great it almost makes me want to start Orks now. That's how awesome it is.

Kudos x1000 to you.
